New Interview with Bill Duke

Probably the final battle.Plus it is a little unbelievable to have big robots unleashed in the fianl battle.

bad day for people hoping for setinels simon posted something anti sentinel recently too

Yeah looks like they just get a cool nod in the Dr.but I can understand that, they don't fit the realistic image set by x1 and x2.

Yeah, but they were dropped for a reason and I don't believe it was all financial. If singer wouldn't have characters flying why would he include big robots/

well sentinels were origionally planned for x2

during the production of x2 they had plans in adding the sentinels but due to the 80 million budget demand for making them happen they have to cut them off and so goes with the danger room. sighs!

i guess the sentinels were ordered by stryker to distract the x-men or maybe that was suggested idea to track down mutants and capture them. i dunno... but everything is a possibility. ;)

It'd be odd if Trask isn't involved with the Sentinals in some way, that was his whole purpose in the comics*. If he is just gonna be a government official I'd have preferred they just made up a new name for the character Duke plays.

*For me this is kinda like having Otto Octavius as the villain in Spider-man 2 without his mechanical arms. Not as severe as that by a long shot mind you, since Trask looks to be more of a peripheral character here, but if they aint gonna reference his comic history then why use the name at all?

True, but like some said before they already used kelly and guyrich. But I guess they could have used steven lang.

I think this quote is interesting:

So having seen both films, and then being directed by Ratner, could you tell there if the style will be different?

BD: I think that there are details to a degree. A lot of stuff was against the green screen and I did not get to work with all of the actors at one time, but with the green screen, we were told what happened before and what happened after; so you’re acting to a black screen but his description of that was very dramatic and very vivid.

Trask acting against a green screen.... Hmmmmm...

Hmm...

What possible reason could Duke have to go against the green screen...

hmm...

With only a couple of scenes to play, did you do any research on your character?

BD: I did some background search in terms of the government and the people who are in a higher position and the power that they have. With General Trask, his overall attitude was that if he had a mission or a goal, he would do it for the country, but also there are personal goals that override that. That was interesting to explore that.

Hate towards mutants, perhaps?

Or he could just feel like sen.kelly that there are certain mutants who are a threat to his country, doesn't mean he hates all mutants.

So...Trask replaces Stryker as Secretary of Homeland Security?

Maybe Mystique morphs into Trask.

But you really wouldn't need a green screen for that. More than likely something is going on in the background that will be added later.

They are really getting their dollars worth out of the whole creative freedom thing. This just confirms what most already know; these people are making their own personal film, not the film the fans wanted.

Nope. Singer said on one the commentaries that the Sentinel was only in X2 to get into Cerebro. It would be brought in after the mansion invasion was over, and all we'd see it do is walk down the hallway in the lower part of the mansion and force open Cerebro. That's why it was so easy to cut; because it was something really expensive that would have done very little.

He did say others would finish his work.

It makes sense,I mean even if they don't have him connected with the sentinels-it's still cool to see him.

he said that he was verbally spoke to about continuing his character arc, wich means they have future plan for his character which could develop into the sentinel project.

Maybe he is like styker, tries to get his way in X-men 3, can't therefore goes about it in a possible future film, they did say they are planting seeds in this film for future ones.

Yeah but they've already appeared in the DR,it wouldn't make sense for him to then invent them.

if the movie goes well... he'll(bill duke) be back. and you know what that means? ;)

are we deffinatly getting sentinels in the danger room?

It's pretty certain. Looks like there will be small flying laser shooting drones and (from the reports) at least one more traditional looking big @ss robot in there.
