Maybe, to throw a bone to fans of the comic, they could at least release a DTV animated movie that is more of a direct adaptation.

There is a guy over at TheTechnodrome that was/is looking for voice actors for a youtube comic series. So I hope that maybe he actually goes through with it.

But even in Volume 1 Eastman and Laird didn't make them look exactly like Turtles and good for them it would look very weird... now a Mixture between real turtles and the TMNT style... could be cool..but straight up turtles... no thanks

then we have a complete disagreement on what is badass, the designs are over complex and add nothing to the characters

No this is Badass

All of those fan made artwork looks like crap. There's a difference when folks try too hard to make them look like realistic turtles. There's a reason why TMNT is fantasy based. Let's keep them close to the source material or even the earlier live action movies.

I'm sure they would still like to target the younger demographic. I mean if we made them look all realistic (like those ugly artwork posted), there's a big chance that they'll scare off the kids instead.

What I really want out of a live action TMNT film, and it's something that will never happen, is for them all to have red masks like the original comics. They look so much more badass that way. The blue, orange and purple are unfortunate alterations to make the thing appeal to kids. Softens their image too much.

people seem to forgetting one thing about the designs they mutant into human size as well as take on human aspects. a lot of these "realistic" designs are just big bipedal turtles ignoring the other half of the concept

Why didn't you just edit your 1st post instead of posting 3 times

And that link you just posted... the official art looks totally opposite of everything you just said you wanted

I don't think the TMNT design for the movie has to be shaken too drastically.Just a few tweks here and there.

If it gets underway.

Nick/Paramount and Viacom could be waiting until Comic-Con to drop major detail on TMNT the new show and movie. I wouldn't be shocked if they start leaking out stills from the new series or teaser trailers weeks leading up to comic con.

does the new ninaj turtle movie come out this summer or next summer? im looking forward to it.

As of right now I prefer the 2003 designs.

2003 is, IMO, the superior incarnation of the TMNT in animation. Well, no... the Mirage-verse TMNT in Turtles Forever are the superior incarnation, but they were barely there.

Those "Bad ass" posts are cartoons. Maybe you want a live action cartoon? Like Mary Poppins?

Mutant Turtle...Live Action.

keep up.:fhm:

I actually liking the new designs of the turtles from the new 2012 cartoon.

It's clear you really care about the properties.
I guess what i like about the design is that it maintains the structure of a real turtle, but aguments it just enough to feel human. I can see this design breathing, talking, fighting in a real environment, surrounded by actors...
The round headed cartoons, and puppets just don't look like turtles at all - they look like puppets.

Similar to the redesign of Optimus Prime in the past TF movies, the key is believeability - not fantasy. If optimus prime had looked just like he did in the cartoons, I'm not sure it would have been as easy to buy in to the film. It would have been some sort of power rangers garbage, and while it may have been pleasing to the fanatics, the rest of us would have been left cold.

Contrary to what many of the fans believe, the movie is a buisness. Mass appeal is the name of the game.

I disagree because I think most people don't give a crap. Espeically when you're dealing with robots. SO you could have made them 'blocky' if they wanted to, with some enhancements to make them more believable.

It doesn't warrent bad designs for the other 'formers either. Because I'm not a fan of moving gears all over their friggin' bodies. Besides Prime, the rest are a bunch of busy designed robots. Look at Starscream.
