April as a reporter has already been done already (and extremely well in the original flick). Why not try something new?

My preference would be to use the Mirage April (just like the 2K3 series did) and make her a scientist, namely Baxter Stockman's lab assistant, but I would be open to other ideas as well.

The new Nick toon has reimagined April as a 16 year old teenager, so there's no telling what they'll do.

Also there's a kit if speculation on Bleeding Cool's part because it shoulda like Liesbman is still working ion the script with the writers. Anythings possible st this point.

Producer hire actors all the time. i'm reminded of Bryan Singer rallying for one of the Twilighter to be Beast in XM:FC.

Yeah, producers overseeing the casting is not uncommon. In fact it happens fairly regularly.

Just so I'm clear....for me thinking that maybe a new approach can be taken with Aprils Character makes my opinion of an actor less valuable?

And for the record I like Jared as an Actor...just not for the role

Especially since I think very highly of Elias Koteas performace in the first movie and the way the character has been presented since its inception......just so I'm clear
