Well, to my mind, Rooney Mara wasn't very good in this film. She killed it in Dragon Tattoo but otherwise brought nothing to Elm Street that I'm sure another actress couldn't. She felt interchangeable.
And in all honesty, Haley's Freddy just wasn't that effective, either. I always felt he was a "prestige" name brought in to lend the film credibility, but he's far creepier to me without the glove and burns (Little Children).
Also -- and this could just be how your posts read -- but there seems to be a really condescending tone from you, like you're personally offended by the "fan boys'" reaction. Again, that might not be your intention and I'm not stating for a fact that
is your angle, just that to my eyes it's beginning to read that way. Anyhow, nothing personal, and clearly nothing is that serious on this board, so back to the speculation
