Bella isn't supposed to be gorgeous. She's supposed to be average, yet still pretty in her own way. Kinda how I feel about Kristen. She isn't a supermodel, but she's still pretty.

I dunno, in the books Edward always talks about how attractive all the boys at their high school find her. I always took that to mean that although she regards herself as average, no one else does.

Yeah, she's average but then she came to the small town and became extraordinary. :o

The way Stephenie describes Bella in the FAQ on her website makes her sound like a pretty girl, but certainly not Cindy Crawford.

i'm not sure i saw any box office talk but wanted to say that i and a few others called the crossing 200m mark by this point. i seriously don't know why many box office experts were predicting old dogs to come out on top over new moon's second weekend...wtf!? funny.

Bella is supposed to be a beautiful girl in the books who underestimates herself. But, it is definitely sappy romance, for sure. Meyers isn't the best writer, but man, she knows how to write addictively. These books and movies are my guilty pleasure :O

I don't hate you.

Bella is average looking in this movie for the same reason Peter Parker is average looking. It's relatable and makes the fantasy for us.

I get it. Still ridiculous. At least Peter Parker actually has something going for him. Bella is just there.

Well it says in the book that she's average looking quite a bit. Edward's attracted to her cause he can't read her mind... :D

I would've never read this series if my gf didn't ask me to. But, I'm glad she did. These books are pretty addictive, I've already read about 150 pages of New Moon since she gave it to me yesterday, I like this book more than the first, at least at the moment.

I get picked on by my friends for reading twilight, being a dude 'n all. I can't help that I like it... :(

so a 17 year old got in better shape than any actor has for any superhero movie, thats gotta be a little embarresing

Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel for Blade Trinity, Thomas Jane for Punisher, and Christian Bale for Batman after The Machinist come to mind. :o I consider Spartans superheroes so throw Gerard Butler and the army in there. :o

how is the BO for this? is it holding up good?

The second weekend was a 70% drop from the opening weekend's $142M opening. It could drop off the Top 10 chart in a matter of weeks, depending on how Avatar and Sherlock Holmes do in late December.

It actually performing similarly to the Potter movies. Opening huge and then falling "relatively" fast.
It took 5 movies for Potter to reach the 300 million mark again .

The way this movie is performing now , i would guess that probabaly hit around 280-290 mil

I'd also add Hugh Jackman for Wolverine, Tobey Maguire for Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. for Iron Man (may not have shown it in IM, but it's shown in the trailers to Sherlock Holmes. Also, it's a lot easier for a 17 year old to get in shape than mid 20 to 40 year olds to get in shape.

70 %?
thats huge right?

so this is the reason why they are making those movies every year.

It was the same way with Twilight. The fans saw it several times, then it dropped, then it rose again when fans saw it again, etc etc.

I wouldn't really count him.

aside from the spartans id' say only ryan reynolds got as good of build. this kid is seriously chiseled. none of those guys aside from reynolds got close to the abs, most only really did the arms and maybe chest

Reynolds is always in shape. so i think he doesnt count.

Maguire was jacked as hell in the first film. The second he lost weight because of Seabisquet, the third, he was chunkier, not fat, but there was a reason why they shot him above the shoulders only.

He's a pudge pudge lol !

True, but still. The transformations of Jane and Bale and Reynolds are waaay crazier though. Not knockin the kid or nothin, wish I could get chiseled for a job, friggin lucky moOofoOO :cmad: loollolol

Reynolds is always in shape. so i think he doesnt count.

He got in shape for the movie... watch Van Wilder, then Blade Trinity. He counts. :o
