aside from the spartans id' say only ryan reynolds got as good of build. this kid is seriously chiseled. none of those guys aside from reynolds got close to the abs, most only really did the arms and maybe chest

Jackman was ridiculously stacked for Wolverine: Origins. And the impressive thing about him was, not only was he cut, but he put on muscle mass. The guy was huge.

I can see it dropping off alot next week (obviously). It's still possible it can make over $300 million.

Yeah, most people who wanted to see the movie have already seen it, so it won't be making much more, most likely.

I'll be waiting for the DVD, I highly doubt any of my friends would want to see this.

And he still is. I saw Hugh on Saturday in a Broadway play with Daniel Craig, and after the show they auctioned off their undershirts for charity - they did a little striptease with them before the bidding started - and wow, Hugh is still huge. Not as big as he was in Wolverine, but he still looks quite impressive. (Daniel looked very good as well)

Apparently the audience thought so too - they wound up getting $15,000 for the shirts! :wow:

I'm not surprised. I did his workout in the summer (the one the trainer outlined in the online articles)...and man, does that routine work you. The hardest part was the diet though, I just didn't have time to cook all the stuff he had to eat. Of course, he has his own chefs to prepare it, and I, being a lowly college kid, feel proud of myself if I find the time to grill some chicken.

However, it's the fact that he was able to pack on so much lean muscle that amazes me. Getting in shape and getting cut is one thing, I've been doing P90x and I've gotten in pretty good shape, but I also lost about ten pounds. Hugh looks like he not only got ridiculously cut, but he added weight, and that's really damn impressive. Gaining lean muscle is hard. But then that's why the man is one of my idols.

Wow, that must have been fun to do.

I was in the mezzanine seats and I could see nearly every muscle through his shirt (trust me, I looked :oldrazz: ). He looks incredible. And he's much taller and thinner in person, which made it look even more impressive. He looked like he could have left the theater and gone straight to the X-Men set.

They've also raised more than $1 million with those auctions, which is awesome.

It was fun, and it gave me a healthy respect for all the work that man puts into his body.

And that is awesome. That's another reason why I love Hugh Jackman, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Not only that, but being a theatre major and a comic nerd, he's pretty much the epitome of what I would love to be some day.

I'm jealous that you got to see him on stage. I've never even been to a Broadway play yet.:csad:

I watched some of that workout routine on the Wolverine blu-ray, it was some pretty amazing stuff.

My friend's friend's brother (that makes sense in some universe) worked with Hugh on the Tonys, and said he's one of the nicest, most un-jaded celebrities he's ever worked with. I've seen him a few times outside the theater and he's seems as nice as everyone says he is. He and Daniel seem to really into the fundraising stuff, which is great (and that auction was hilarious)

That was actually my 7th time seeing him on stage - I saw Boy From Oz 5 times and this new play (A Steady Rain) twice. And I'm still kicking myself for not seeing him in Oklahoma when I was in London a few years back. He's an amazing stage actor too.

And I hear he's going to be doing a movie with Robert Pattinson (my weak attempt to stay on topic) too? :oldrazz:

Domestic: $233,334,668 49.0%
+ Foreign: $243,000,000 51.0%
= Worldwide: $476,334,668
this is amazing. you can not deny this anymore. twilight is big around the world. not only in the US.

It actually performing similarly to the Potter movies. Opening huge and then falling "relatively" fast.
It took 5 movies for Potter to reach the 300 million mark again .

I don't know... the second weekend drops for the HP movies were around 50-60%, not great but better than the 70% drop the Twilight movies did. The only reason that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was able to scrape the $300M mark was the huge opening day number plus inflated ticket prices. The other four movies (Stone, Goblet, Chamber and Phoenix) did better in terms of attendance, while the latest one nabbed slightly more seats than the third movie.

My Review

Before I being, I must apologize for my grammatical ****ery. I just got back from seeing this so bear with me.

I gotta say, going into this one got me a little nervous. It was my least favorite book in the series and to be honest out of the rest this was the one I was least excited for.
I was a fan of the first film. Sure it wasn't perfect, but hey, it was a hell of a lot better than what we could've gotten with the original script. I'm a big fan of Melissa Rosenburg's work on Dexter. Sometimes I feel that this type of storyline isn't cut out for her (especially with some of the stuff she kept in for this movie) but overall I'm fairly pleased with her and Catherine Hardwicke's dedication to have made the first film what it was, not what it could've been.

Overall the biggest improvement in this movie are the visuals. It has a different tint this time considering the tone of the movie. I did miss Hardwicke this time around but was fairly pleased with someone who had CGI experience. The biggest mistake I think that was made with the first film (again, although i enjoyed it) was that they made it out to look like an independent film, which was not how these movies, with their storyline, were supposed to be. The wolves didn't look all that bad, I enjoyed the fight sequences for what they were and how the wolves were fighting with each other didn't give me that , holy **** CGI nightmare kind of feel. Some of the special effects with Bella dropping down from the cliff and Same as well could've been improved. Edward's image wasn't too bad and it gave us the feel the book did when she described seeing his image whenever she was in danger.
And ok this is going to sound so wrong that i'm happy about this but THANK FRICKEN GEEBUS THEY FIXED THE SPARKLE! THE SOUND EFFECT WAS GONE! YAAAYY

Ok don't worry that's the only part of my fangirl that is coming out during this review :O

The performances are another story. The human friends did exactly what the script gave them and they did a good job. I can definitely see all of them move on to do great things once this franchise is over, especially Michael Welch.
The same can be said for the Wolf pack. They weren't given much but they were given enough and they also did what they could with it.
Gotta say my favorite was definitely Michael Sheen who plays Aro. He nailed the part , and the character from the book came to life. Creepy yet humourous.
The Volturi had to be my favorite scene, was my favorite part of the book. The added fight sequence, some would argue wasn't necessary, but it was something I was happy to see. It gives the audience the feel of how dangerous the Volturi are and can actually be. Also showed people dowing this franchise that hey, not all the vampires eat only animals. I kind of wish the end of this scene was prolonged, and see exactly how the Volturi worked when the tourists were taken down there to be fed on. But alas this is PG 13. Dakota also nailed the part of Jane.

One thing I missed in this movie like I missed in the book were the Cullens. They are my favorite part of this series. I kind of wish they had maybe given their perspectives through this ordeal, rather than completely have stayed to the book where we don't see them at all till the end. The birthday scene was cut a bit short and I was hoping to get more of Carlisle's story like in the book but it did what it did to prolong and get the story going without getting any audience member who hasn't read the book confused. He talked about the Volturi and being damned and that's all that needed to be said, story-wise.
Ashley Greene, I was excited to see more of her for this movie. The girl is Alice, plain and simple. My favorite scene had to be her just busting in the door in her scarf and glasses with a smile on her face, typical Alice.
Robert Pattinson did a better job this time around when it came to playing the brooding, upon brooding Edward. It gave us a glimpse on how much he has changed since Twilight, he is more comfortable being close with Bella, just like the book described. And he looked pretty damn good ok :D (again I apologize).
Taylor Lautner surprised me in this movie. First of all, he didn't annoy the crap out of me like book Jacob did. You felt bad for him, and hoped he would get that he would always be just the friend in this scenario. He worked hard to keep this role, and it paid off for him.

I may be in the minority, but these movies aside, Kristen Stewart is a talent and one of the best in her generation judging from films such as Speak, The Messengers, and Into the Wild. With these films, I don't know. She doesn't annoy me like Bella did, but I just know she can do so much better than she is doing. Maybe with Eclipse we will see a different side of her. Much improved then with Twilight, performance wise.

One thing that I'm definitely going to miss in Eclipse is Rachel Lefevre's Victoria. Without uttering one word or sound she totally and completely nailed Victoria. It's such a shame since Eclipse would've been not only her final act, but it would've given her so much more screen time as well as more dialogue to prove herself. Sadly we will never get that thanks to Summit.

Overall, I enjoyed this movie. The visuals were stunning, and it seemed to be improved in more ways than one. Sadly, like I stated before, it was my least favorite of the books, and it bored me in the exact spots the book did. However, in the end, I left the theater not underwhelmed, just having that feeling of getting what I was expecting.

7/10

Do you have a link for that

So Ive been hearing that Breaking Dawn will be split into 2 parts. And after listening to maybe half of the book on youtube and reading the sypnosis on wikipedia does the book really need one?

I agree. It may be the longest book, but not enough happens in it to justify 2 movies.

Finally saw this yesterday, it was enjoyable, I actually liked it better than the first. The only parts that made me cringe were when Bella and Edward were talking to each other. But I guess girls love that.

:whatever: at people voting 1s.

Summit is just speculating what to do right now. If Summit indeed makes Breaking Dawn: Parts One and Two, they'll have to up negotiations with Pattinson, Lautner and Stewart to renegotiate for a fifth pic. That entails a bigger, possibly double-digit million payouts to each of the principals. (Warner Brothers had to do the same when they split the final HP book into two movies.)

If Summit is truly money-savvy (provided none of their non-Twilight movies light up the box office), they might be better off doing four movies and leave it at that. Use IMAX and the DVD/Blu-ray market as anticillary revenue.

Oh, and Bryce Dallas Howard spoke a bit about her role in Eclipse. She seems really respectful of the franchise, and understands that some of the die-hards are angry at her for replacing Levefre.

Okay.......my cousin gave me Breaking dawn so i could read it and all i can say is:

DAMN!.....:hehe:....Wolf boy is a pedo? and that whole pregnancy situation is just....wow....its frikkin weird as hell......seriously if i see all of that in the movie counterpart i will laugh my ass off....

I'm confused. I thought Eclipse was the one that was going to be split into two films? My best friend gave me Eclipse and Breaking Dawn after I finished reading New Moon.

Eventually I'll start reading it when I actually have time sit down and read.

As for New Moon? I was surprised. I really enjoyed the film and I haven't seen Twilight yet. My friends and I went opening night to see it in the midst of excited teeny boppers. It was quite an experience and I went in with the lowest of expectations.

But I was really, really surprised. I know this will sound weird but I found myself relating to Edward as I see a lot of myself in him. Mainly for his devotion, his loyalty, and his strong love for the woman he cares about and how he'll do anything for her. To me it's a beautiful thing and while I'm not saying Rob Pattison, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor are the best actors in the world they embody their characters well.

I haven't read Breaking Dawn yet. But how is it compared to New Moon? My friend told me it was much darker and it's more violent than New Moon.

Eclipse will be PG-13, not R-rated. 1) Stephanie Meyer insisted on it and 2) Summit, like other studios, realize PG-13 movies can make more dough as opposed to strictly PG or R-rated movies.

And AngelFaerie, not everyone who will sit down to watch Eclipse will complain about Bryce Dallas Howard replacing Levefre as Victoria. It's more likely that the die-hard fans (a small minority) will complain, but the rest of the audience (the rest of the general public) won't care. And to top it off, a trailer hasn't been released yet.
