Everybody's different. Some couples just don't like seeing movies by themselves (by that I mean separately) or with their friends. Sometimes, movies are couples' ways of spending personal time with each other.

Hooray, personal time where you can't talk and one of the people hates the movie.

At least the Twilght Sucks thread is closed. I really don't care about the franchise and the quality if questionable since I haven't seen it, but I don't want to bash it. Some people like things others don't, different tastes basically.

All the "I hate this franchise" posts are still sort of mucking up this thread, though. Makes it hard to have movie discussion that revolves around enjoyment of the film.

<Looks around. Sees nobody read article.> :(

Okay, okay. Yeah, I think most focus on what they hate on the Internet, because it is easier to criticize or look down upon somebody else as a sense of self-promotion. It gives confidence to the detractors to have somebody to step on and in this case, it helps they are girls (something many of Twilight's detractors are not used to interaction with). However, it is always entertaining to watch fan factions go at it via anonymous swipes.

Yet, what is focal in popular culture currently, which right now is most obviously Twilight, will get a lot of attention because people enjoy *****ing and making (usually inaccurate) sweeping claims. Hence what I have already written to debunk such logic.

Well, like any film that people don't like they will be there to bash it unfortunately. Because of what people have said, it's easier to criticize and be cynical, it's basically the internet. At least some people have been banned.

I was glad for the Twilight sucks thread because it kept most of the haters out of here.

But they still managed to seep in here. Probably because they want more attention.

Stating your opinion is fine but they just laid it on thick. Constantly draping this thread and saying, "LOOK! Look at us! It sucks!" It's like they think it doesn't compute with us.

They acted like 12 year old boys on the playground.

And speaking of the hate, I never got the hate for Pattinson. He seems pretty cool most of the time. I just think people hate on him because he's involved in this franchise and plays the vampire people like to hate on.

Robert really does seem like a cool guy and seems like he enjoys making the movies and wants to please everyone.

It'd be interesting for it to be a little less quick, but it'd take up time needed to do other things.

OK, need a little advice from the Twilight experts around here: we're doing the 'Adopt-an-Angel' holiday gift drive at work, and I got a 14-year-old girl who requested (and I quote): "Twilight Stuff."

So what would be considered awesome 'Twilight stuff' to give a 14-year-old for Christmas? Rob and Taylor will not fit in the gift bag, so that's definitely not an option. :oldrazz:

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks! :woot:

The DVD
The soundtrack
Shirts, jackets, clothes
Jewelry

Basically go to Hot Topic and raid the Twilight section. :oldrazz:

I'm not here to hate. Really.

But I don't like how the wolves transform. Too quick.

I agree. I like slow a painful transformations, but in saying that, I did enjoy the werewolf fight.

There's a reason the transformations are the way they are. But I can't tell you, 'cause it's a spoiler :o

Go to Hot Topic, or if you're willing to spend more money, Nordstrom. Get her clothing or jewelry that's New Moon related

When Twi-people say screw the haters do they also mean Rob Pattinson ? Since he hates the books, the "writer", and the fans.

Wow, I hadn't even thought of Hot Topic. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!

Get her a Robert Pattison standee.

FX buys the basic cable rights to the all four Twilight movies. The first pic will air in late 2011, NM in late 2012, and the yet-to-be released Eclipse will air in early 2013. The air date for Breaking Dawn will be dependent on its theatrical release date.

FX is pretty fast when it comes to bidding on various broadcast rights, but to nab four successive movies (and the last two have yet to be released) is pretty shocking.
