I suspect this news is going to make some of you happy, & some sad. I am sad to report that the decision has been made to completely shelve New Mutants. The decision came straight from the top. Unless a certain someone has a sudden change of heart, the movie will not see any form of official release.

Perhaps it's for the best, as the property will be able to start fresh when the time comes, not being weighed down by Boone's disaster.

I’m sad for all the people who worked on it. As a project maybe we’ll get it eventually in the MCU but it could be 10 years away or so. Thanks for the info.

It may come sooner than you think. Disney definitely recognizes the interest in the property. And from what I've been told, the coming X-Men films and spin-offs are going to be multiplying faster than rabbits.....

Disney/Marvel has had loose plans for the X-Men movies for years now, & now that they've got the rights, they are well prepared to make many a mutant film & to start profiting asap.

That is exactly what I was wishing for. I hope we get blitzed by them. I hope we get cameos in other films too. Will be interesting to see how soon they can start talking about their plans on this and how long they will wait before the first X-Men film.

I would love if those rumours about setting up the X-Men within that film comes true.

mmmm.... guess this means a Disney head gave the order, and not Feige himself, right?
we'll see if anyone from Fox/Marvel Studios will mention this project and its status in the upcoming months. Or if a big industry site reveals the news.

Any news or updates on Dark Phoenix? I assume that's still on track for release? I do find it interesting that Fox is still promoting Dark Phoenix with new images and posters despite how far out it is yet they're radio silent on New Mutants.

The success of recent X-Men spinoffs and Marvel Phase III had me looking forward to watching this one, so that's a bummer.

These characters are actually pretty big. I recently read "Avengers No Surrender" where Rogue and Beast are key members and two New Mutants are also there: Sunspot and Cannonball. And it was a very good event.

I was also looking forward to a latina playing Magma in a sequel, looking somewhat like this:

I really do not know how much slugzilla says should be believed. whether they a true or not we have already heard so much other stuff from you that didn't come to pass. even if you may have been right about new mutants in some regard.

Yeah, I do too. Even if it's just released on the streaming service. At a minimum, the cast seems very talented and I'd like to see what they can do.

I wouldn't mind if it got a release on a streaming service, if only for curiousity's sake. Though I'd be more interested in seeing Dark Phoenix as the last main Fox X-men made released on a streaming service.

I never felt convinced by what was talked about or shown of New Mutants so I was always indifferent at best towards it.

you know what I'm starting to think? The spinoffs were starting to eclipse the main installments by Kinberg. Yikes indeed. The original New Mutants is probably good.
