Will Smith might be a possibility.
It's Mark Whalberg. I know Jett doesn't like people reposting stuff he only says on the forums (what does he expect though?), but he gave away obvious clues there.
At the end of his post, he said "well I guess i'll depart, but keep those good vibrations coming."
Now, "depart" is obviously a clue pointing to the recent movie The Departed, however another clue is the "good vibrations" thing, which as someone pointed out is the title of a song by our friend Marky Mark.
Will Smith might be a possibility.
I agree. But is that who it's coming down to? Any available tidbits Gil?
I've got nothing on this one, Artos. All I know is that they've been in negotiations with a few guys for a while. Hopefully they can get someone pinned down in the next few weeks/days.
It obviously happens all the time, so no need for anyone to panic. The same thing happened with the Gordon role (more so than more people realize), and Gary Oldman ended up doing a great job. They'll get someone great regardless of the "draw" of the name/whatever the public's preconcieved notions are.
(I.E. Ledger...He's going to kill in this role, but people don't quite "get it" yet... they will.)
Luckily, the choices for Dent so far are pretty much guaranteed to make everyone happy regardless, so we should all thank our lucky stars. My guess on this one is that the studio would like to do a press release announcing both the recast of the Rachel character, Harvey Dent, and anyone else returning in one shot. So I'd expect something big to break very soon.

Nice to see you're still around Gill. Thanks for the info.
BTW, is there any truth to Moviehole's insistance about Rachel dying? This has been driving me mad for a week now.
you thinkin its not nessecary?
I think it would be an interesting wrinkle to test Batman, and see if it drives him mad, or if he can deal with it
We've already seen Bats come to terms with justice vs revenge. I'm not saying the Nolans couldn't do something interesting with a seemingly tired cliche but...I'd rather have no cliches at all in the end.
Yeah that's what we wanna see. Him getting acid thrown in his face then "AWWWW HELL NO!"

There might not be a use for Rachel besides dying though is kind of how I am thinking, cause I don't think they will hook up, and if they do it won't be in TDK, it would be in 3
