BvS New Positivity Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!) - Part 1

what for??? the negativity disease has spread to JL too?

These couple of days weren't bad, but every while it turns into the repeated BvS bickering. The general thread was locked for a while because of that.

Let the moaners huff and puff. I liked the Theatrical but the UC is great. The moaners can keep on moaning, and I'll keep on enjoying the film. We can both keep on doing what we enjoy.

I don't care about that as long as it doesn't ruin the chances for healthy discussion, I get tired of jumping most of the posts to get to the relevant ones.

Well said

Here's some positivity for ya, I thought the Ultimate Cut was a big improvement. It's the definitive version in my eyes.

I' mm lucky. I love all CW, XMA, BvS. It's so great we have all those great films with each their sensitivy and personnality.

I thought BvS was a nice continuation of MoS, there is still emotion, subtle, lots of details and symbolism. Next to demigod fight and clear out mythology elements. The visuals and photography were really interesting to, going from the blue light to the yellow gritty. It reminds me of GitS with the white light glimpering like from the other side. It went nice with the characters, wich were great, it's purposeffuly written. The second half of the movie didn't staisfy me fully fully though, something in the climax or paybe the three hours long got me a bit. Still the music is stunning, it gives a continuous feeling to the film and they are sole great theles or following of emotion.

I only watched the TC on a poor rip (not even really watched it) but i recall some editing atrocity but here the movie had a great flow. Down the river it goes, horsin' around, water clear

you are lucky indeed. :)
but... how about the ninja turtle? :D

Didn't catch that one , didn't felt an attraction. I had a busy cinematic month, i also saw NeonDemon-TheWitch-Belladonna wich all speaks about woman and witchcraft, felt connected and was a great follow up of films. Maybe i'll catche ninja turtle later, but i would rather watch the cartoon for some childhood memory lane trip

Just done watching the UE and it was one of the most satisfying experiences I've ever had! From seeing Superman save people after the bombing and Clark investigating Batman to seeing more of Lois and her story arc, it was a great experience. The additions to the music really made some scenes pop more than they did before and made an already great movie that much greater. So glad to see a hint of Batman using the white lenses in his cowl and all the little scenes and lines that added even more depth to all the characters in the movie.

A++ from me! This is the definitive version of the film.

Only thing I was a little disappointed by was that the scene showing Superman looking for his mother using his super-hearing only to be overwhelmed by the screams of crime victims from all over the city, which was described by Snyder and co as having been shot but removed since it was too dark, was finally not in the UE.

The focus on Anatoly's doings and the clarification of the facts that the bodies of the terrorists were burned and that the bomb was lined with lead, really take the heat off Superman from the audience's perspective and make him less blamable for those things.

I loved this movie to my core and the UE has just taken that to a whole new level! :)

Was that in the TC? I would really want to see how they shot that and rendered the feelings overwhelming him. Would have been a greatly emotional scene, i would have connected immsenly to that, pure Superman i want to see.

I kinda wanted to see that scene, but I also didnt, because having that scene opens a lot of cans of worms, where people would go like "Yeah Snyder's murderman doesnt care about other people only Martha and Lois" etc,so in a weird way I'm glad they didnt go there. After all its not pleasant to have Superman hear the screams of so many people, and ignore that.

Agreed there..people would just use it to slam Snyder's version. Even though that's what almost all versions of Superman has ever done.

Clark isn't spending every minute of his life saving people...no, he has a life (so, essentially he does ignore a lot of cries of help...seeing that there will always be someone else at risk).

Only way to deal with that is to shut off your super hearing...otherwise, it will drive him insane.

I guess there would have been a little explanation or it should have been complementary to another scene earlier, but i agree with you, though it could also have enhanced the tragic of him having to go fight Batman. We don't know how they did so.. I still want to see it, Snyder is getting used to all the extended cut mega cult supreme edition who knows maybe they are even more delted scene that could make the movie better ^^ but the UC has a real flow and gets it right overall so it's ok

I read the Alex Ross story Peace on Earth wich was basically about that, i think Superman can't be Superman all the time , he has to stay human so he can relate. Anatoly says something to bruce about that "one good luck is always his brother misfortune", this make him a really empathic figure because before all he has to bear the weight of his conscioucness. That's something heavy.

I liked the stuff they did in the Daredevil TV show, when they show how he reacts to when he hears about the crime in the city,I think that is very well done.Come to think of it,Daredevil is my favourite TV comicbook show. But this is not the place to discuss that :P

Anybody else love how in the UC,right before the fight, the two main characters Bruce and Clark both have these introspective moments with their adopted parents(Bruce with Alfred and Clark with Pa Kent),and that leads to the final act.It was very well crafted moment in the UC.

I like that overall, the UC has an even spread of Clark/Bruce content. That's what really works for me.

Oh, yes. I love Peace on Earth, primary reason because it isn't afraid of going there...most writers just don't do anything like that.

Batman v Superman ultimate edition is so so good. It definitely put the icing on an already fantastic movie. I already understood motivations and the action but seeing and hearing and finding out more about the film just did it for me. Batman is my favorite character ever and him killing in this and how more brutal he is in the ultimate edition I never had a problem with it. Its different. Its understandable why he does this and it was !@#$ing awesome to see. I'm so glad that Superman/clark gets more time in this edition. Its now really a Batman and Superman film.

A positive thing: BvS dvds and blue rays are selling like hotcakes

Another positive thing.

Just tried the 3D Bluray. The depth in many scenes is outstanding. The action scenes have the most to gain and some of the already glorious shots look even more glorious.

Don't know why they discouraged 3D showings in the theater.

I'd put the director's cut on par with TDKR (which is my favorite Batman movie to date, and my favorite from Nolan's trilogy; probably no coincidence that this one and BvS take a bit from Miller's DKR). I really ****ing loved how we got to see Supes as a guy who, despite his tremendous power, is struggling to find a place in the world.

When production began, I pegged this as an attempt to cash-in on Marvel's movies. That's probably not far from the truth of it, but I see where DCEU is in a position to start a very unique trajectory for their movies. I hope it works out; I'm looking forward to them getting right to the really juicy stuff like Darkseid, Apokolips and the New Gods.
