New Release Date

Yea, throw the baby out with the bath water, right ? Story did an excelent job with what he was given. What was wroung with the stunts ? And the filming ? 1st time i'm hearing about the Stunt coridanator, and the filming crew.

Well as far as cinematography goes the film was flat with no real look of it's own, just a basic TV movie look as opposed to an indivdual style but granted not everyone cares about that
As far as action goes, just compare the badlt edited badly coordinated Bridge sequence to something like MI-3' Bridge sequence or Bad Boys 2 car chase to see the difference

Exactly, hunter.

Here's the thing, Fox are interested on the money (it's their job), they know we will see the movie at least once, so why bother getting us completly satisfied by spending more cash or even time than necessary (i don't think they're trying to ruin the movie, they just don't care about sacrificing a good release date or some millions to make a better movie). If they wanted to fix their release date gap why don't they just put another movie in there (Put the Simpsons movie, and put FF2 on July 27. I mean, what else is there? That caveman movie?).

But whatever, i wish the best of luck to Story, Payne or Frost (I'm not really sure who is better, i'll have to see which Simpson episodes did Payne wrote) and the rest, cause they're gonna need it.

Well you'll be sick the rest of your life then. We all want a great movie and for it to make a box office splash as well. There are great movies that just bomb at the box office and deserive a sequel. There are also bad movies that do good/great at the box office that get a second chance at redeeming itself because of the money it brought it. Of course I want a great movie but that's not what the argument was.

By the way...We're talking about timing the release of FF2 to maximize the box office not sacrificing quality ok Red. Don't confuse one point with the other.

Nope I just disagree with your statement about just "putting up" with this **** and shutting up about it cause it will give us sequels and spinoffs. That doesn't matter if the sequels and spinoffs are treated no differently. Them just shortening the production time even more just gives it more room for failure in departments IMO.

So my point is from a financial standpoint it probably won't hurt FOX. But in terms of quality...it looks like the same **** all over again.

The June 15 date scares me less than the [now] Sept. start date! Even a few days can make a huge difference for the visual effects guys! I will keep a positive attitude, but add them up and they could spell DOOM!

Sept start date? Filming starts here in vancouver in June, i know people personaly who have jobs on set (nothing big where i/they can break scoops or anything)

Are you sure that's Principle photography? I know Spidey 3 started 2nd unit stuff a month of two before principle did, and I think X3 did at least a few days in S.F. before they started their's...hey, hope you're right!

Then don't buy a ticket. I agree with you on some points but that was never my argument. By the way look at the new thread in this forum about Narnia 2 moving. I already e-mailed Marvel and told them to do the right thing...like it matters but maybe they'll snag the date. Also there's some really big Marvel news likely coming very very soon regarding promoting their films. That's all I'm gonna say. We like to make you smile. ;)

Later.

It doesn't matter if I buy a ticket or not. And I am someone who enjoyef FF but recognizes it could have been a lot better and was really flawed. And it seems they aren't changing that formula so I will see it at least once in theaters of course which is all I did with FF. I refuse to buy another hacked up Fox dvd.

And please stop with the "I emailed" stuff...we don't care.

^ Don't speak for the board. You mean "you" don't care. I've e-mailed and gotten responses from people 50% of the time. So I'll do what I want. I agree FF was mediocre at best though the studio didn't want to take any major risks with an untested franchise. Now we know a mediocre film can make 332 million worldwide...imagine now that the origins are out of the way and assuming they listened to all the whining about it's flaws...they should get it right now. By the way every time I e-mail Marvel they respond to me with complete answers but ask me not to post the info. So if you have any questions e-mail Marvel's IR dept and they'll do the same for you. If you don't cut and paste what they send to you they're really open.

Hot Damn if that MI3 bridge sequence wasn't spectacular!!!! The best i've seen in a movie, just everthing was perfect, the score, everything. Bad Boys 2 was good and I like the destruction of the bridge in WOTW, but MI3 was the best I've seen. Abrams really did an excellant job. Why don't FOX bring on board people like him.

Its whining for fans to want their favorite characters portrayed the right way?? Interesting. And this is FOX's what....5th time "they should get it right now?" :)

Would they know if Julian McMahon was there? Because we still don't seem to know definitively whether he's in it or not.

Well being Fox has put one of their projects that was to begin filming in June on hold, I would assume they did so so they could start on F 2.

It doesn't jive with their quick'n dirty'n cheap approach to filmmaking.

Amazing. You been singing same song for as long as I can remember. We're going to get a sequel. Why not get onboard The Thing, "its going to be better bus" ? You've got it prejudged allready. And besides, it's healthier to be positive, then negative. Give positive a try.:) And smile. Makes your face look better, and makes people wounder what you been doing.

Sardaukar's got a point, you know.

His filmmaking remark is right on the target. Plus: repetition creates awareness.

But you know that also, because you insist in your positive way. And you know something? I'm fine with that too.

I'm glad, because it won't change. :) And we agree to disagree.

That’s what I was saying; they probably started shooting cinematography shots and ect. in April, and the cast comes in at June to start their shooting, but Alba might not come right away possibly? They might shoot some of the scenes without her first? But that’s just a guess, or maybe she’ll be there in June.

She won't be there until after June 3....but of course they could shoot some stuff without her...:)

Repitition creates "dead horses"...:)

Not to knit pick guys, but since the trades reported on May 4 that Fox had not even picked a script, I do not see how they could have started any real production as of now, muc less in April! Even shooting generic shots of New York would be a waste of time with out knowing the context it is being shot for.

I'm sure the art department, the creature effects guys, and so on are doing designs, etc.; but I know that they are not going to have the effects guys start building both Doom and Surfer, on the chance that one of them might be used.

You guys who know folks working on the show, do they say they are rolling film for principle, doing tests, or what?

Now i'm not a 100% sure but i think they choose the script sometime ago and thats just delayed news, i'm pretty sure the scripts been done since atleast early spring under tight security. As far as i know and i've heard it on local radio, shooting starts in lots of the same locations with cast in June. Production is currently underway.

Hard to say who "you guys" are, we have some talking around here, but we won't know if they know what they are talking about or are full of it so to speak until June...:)
