Going next week,i liked the book but im not sure it translates to a summer film given it's slowish pace and exposition heavy nature

The Fantastic Four made more than all except for 2, so Hunter by those terms i can also compare the 2.

The thing is....BO really doesn't tell you how creative a director is....or how good they are with action, drama or whatever....I don't think anyone is going to be able to argue that Bay doesn't know how to do action, to say that is simply crazy....I'm not necessarily a fan of any director in particular...I like Cameron, but honestly I know him from producing Dark Angel....I didn't know who he was at the time of Titanic, True Lies, etc.......9/10 I don't know who the hell the director is of a movie I'm going to see....I'd see the trailer, looked like fun....go see it....make my mind up and go from there.....

Also, ticket prices have changed over the years you have some movies there that are well over a decade old.....now I don't want to go into $$ amounts because really thats not what its about......I didn't see as much problem with Tim's vision than some on here....but I'm not going to try and prove them wrong either.....Story needs more experience....he has a movie under his belt now...and about to begin another....my hopes are that he has learned from his mistakes in the first and if thats the case.....then we can only go up....:)

And no need to apologize to me for the shouting....I was messin with you more than anything....;)

I like Ron Howard, I just don't think this was a film for him.....and as usual the people they chose are not what I had in my head for the characters....usually I can get through that....not sure I can with this one....to me they truly did not match characters with actors well......damn I sound like some F4 fanboys.....

I think the same.

JMAfan I didn’t mean to shout, my apologizes just seems like people are creating a negative buzz on this film for something to do.

There will always be people like that around here. Best to just ignore them.:)

If you'll indulge me, I've got a little story.

About a month ago, I was planning on getting together with some friends for a little motorcycle ride.

As our date approached, the weather reports weren't looking good. In fact, it turned out that it POURED the entire day, so, instead of riding, we got together at a little pub/restaurant. Had some good food and a few beers, watched the Penn State Blue/white game and talked about motorcycles, cars, sports and other things we were interested in.

We didn't spend a lot of time talking about the rain. Not because we didn't know it was raining, but what would the point have been in dwelling on something like that?

If someone had spent a lot of time talking about how hard it was raining, they wouldn't have been particularly insightful, or perceptive or profound - they would have just been . . . annoying.

Now imagine someone who didn't even ride (think Batman fans here - though only a very select few) came over and started laughing at us because we couldn't ride that day. That would have been beyond annoying.

Of course in the real world - where people actually talk to one another eyeball to eyeball - no one would actually do something like that unless they were a world class jerk. But on the internet, people seem to do it just because the can.

lol,Well Hanks to me is a chameleon and some that didn't see him liked him in the role, the one i think was a really weird choice was Mckellen as Teabing given that he is described as plump with red hair in the book:confused:
Sophie also seems like a sturdy woman than Audrey looks to me
Reno as Fache and Molina as Ariganosa seem spot on though IMO
I'd seen Bettany as Silas before i read so that's not a fair one to judge:O

Nope, I wasn't accusing either of you. Just talking in general terms. At the moment, I think most of the people around here are here because they're genuinely interested in the film . . .

But next time we get a story on the front page . . . watch out.

My sister didn't like him in the role AT ALL...and she's a huge Tom Hanks fan, my sister has yet to lead me wrong on any movie....so this one will probably be a DVD rental....which is fine....thats not a slam thats just where I will enjoy the movie, the most....:)

I call these people "downers" now.....they have a problem with the first movie???? ok.....we've seen it, we know what we like and don't like.....but I'm not going to be a "downer" for the next year because there were parts of the first movie I didn't like....if Hoy is back....and we should know in the next few weeks....I'm not going to take every little thing that comes up....news (new release date), news (production start date), pictures, video and use that to get the point across that I didn't like the editing of the first movie....that would be stupid and a waste of my time....I will say...if Hoy is back....THATS A DISAPPOINTMENT FOR ME....but I'm not going to let it color the rest of my wait as I wait for the sequel.......I'm excited the actors are coming back.....and that right now is a huge positive for me as far as the sequel is concerned....and I'll keep that in mind as we begin our long wait........I don't understand spending time in a forum waiting for a movie I've already condemned....BUT Dynasty, we have some of those now, they see their time spent here as a cause of some kind....and we will have many later.......keep your attitude up/your hopes high....don't worry about theres......enjoy the ride as my other thread proposed.....and hang on.....:D

ALSO, IF.....some get on your nerves SOOOOOOO much that it begins to irritate you.....ignore is a good thing.....:)

Didn't know being worried and bashing were the same thing. Oh well.

I think it's sometimes hard to tell the difference on a forum like this for several reasons:

1. All anyone can see is typed words. They can't hear subtle clues we get in conversation. Voice inflection, facial expressions etc.

2. With 20 different people posting over a short period, we see bashing posts intermixed with people who have legitimate concerns, and most of us read through too quickly to notice exactly who is saying what.

3. Sometimes bashers try to mask their intentions: "I'm really hoping for the best . . . but Tim Story is a worthless hack who couldn't direct an anti-syphlis public service spot." - that sort of thing.

For what it's worth, I've seen you posting on here for a long time, and I'd certainly never classify you as a "basher".

In terms of quality other then The Rock all of those movies were just as bad or worse then the FF. I don't understand why they choose Bay for the Transformers.

If you are talking about my post.....then you didn't read my post....
If people had problems with the first, ok....but to take those problems and in EVERY post as some do, use them to down this movie before we seen ANYTHING on every occassion they can is a "downer" in my opinion....be worried?....sure...be cautious sure?...stay away from crow eating????sure....but if they have absolutely no hope for this movie, then why would they be here?

I agree with Willie....

On most posts on a message board the emotion we put into the posts we put as we read them....

I also believe Willie said this as well.....most would never tell you in person what they are very willing to type here....

Nope. Was replying to one of Dynasty's posts calling me "someone who is just looking for something to call this movie a failure" or something like that.
