Interesting, I've been listening to Robbie's voice in the newest Marvel vs Capcom footage and he sounds better there. I'm wondering if he feels more natural playing an older teen/young adult Spidey?

Would be interesting to see that growth as for the moment he's channeling his other character

I'm sure Drake Bell has a normal sounding voice somewhere but I'm willing to bet as is the case with Robbie, that Disney animation is pushing towards having Spider-Man sound more like Mickey Mouse.

I find it interesting that the voice direction of Spidey in the last cartoon and this one have opted on sounding closer to 12-13 than 15 and up. I mean, I sounded generally the same as I do now by my mid to late teens. Then again, I've always had a deeper voice... so my lighter vocally toned friends, does this Peter/Spidey sound about right?

According to these two links, some of the heroes and villains will come from different science schools (sort of like Hogwarts), Sandman will have a daughter named Sandgirl, and Mr. Negative will appear.

Really? I feel the opposite. He sounded annoying in the game and a bit better in the show.

^ With that info and the Doc Ock design, and Scott Menville voicing him, I'm guessing Doc Ock will be a kid from the rival school. The promo art has been getting my hopes too high because Doc Ock looked great in the promo art, but his actual design in the show is nothing like it.

What does his design look like? Also looks like they are bringing in the symbiote early again. Sigh

Now that you mention it, I wonder if the Green Goblin in the promo art? Is actually Harry Goblin.

Promo art is just art they put on toys and posters. The person they got to do them isn't actually working on the show.

I saw the first two episodes at Comic Con today. Pretty good. Leagues ahead of Ultimate, but not as good as spectacular. Spidey's voice grated on me at first, but I got used to it. Harry was very well handled, and he looks to be a major focus of the show going forward. The Smythes appear to be the big bads so far. I'll answer any question so if y'all have any.

Hey, A couple of questions:
-Does it have a full intro, or Ultimate type?
-What are the two episodes main villians?
-Does spidey uses the Proto suit or the main one?

At last, Asking "Did you like it" For me is not a good question, so I kinda ask you:

-Do you want to see more of it?

-Ultimate type. The logo pops up and then Spidey swings at the screen.
- Vulture is the main villain in episode 1. Scorpion is a side villain that gets defeated in the beginning of episode 2, and a spider slayer robot is the main villain of the rest of the second episode.
-Spidey has his proto suit in episode 1 and the first half of 2. The show proper takes place shortly after Peter has vowed to fight crime, and it is his first day as Spider-Man proper. He gets the classic suit halfway through 2.
And, yes, count me in for more. The show is really fun and I'm actually looking forward to more episodes. Enough seeds for really cool storylines are planted that I'm in. The show isn't basically a poor man's spectacular. Not quite awning good but similar heart and tone.

Ok, last two questions:

-Hows the pacing of the show?
-How much Peter is there? Is it like Ultimate where peter was spiderman's alter ego?

-the pacing is good. Similar to spectacular, maybe slightly faster. It feels a tad more aimed at kids than Spec, but not to the extent that older fans (I'm in college so I suppose I qualify lol) can't enjoy it.
-Spidey is Peters alter ego. The Peter/Spidey balance feels similar to Homecoming and Spectacular in that regard.

Could you write a synopsis of the overall story of the first two episodes? It doesn't have to be very detailed, but just the gist of the main plot.

Thank you in advance!

Interesting how Vulture's the villain in episode 1 and Scorpion's in episode 2. That seems to be what the movies are planning too.

Also, how much self-awareness would you say the show has in regards to Ultimate? Does it feel like they wrote a list of all criticisms thrown at Ultimate and tried to make improvements, or more like they just wanted another Spider-Man show?

Episode 1: Peter, in a makeshift Spider-Man costume, thwarts some thugs who committing robbery. After he stops the robbers and saves some people in the process, the vulture shows up, as the thugs were working for him. He fights Spidey and gets away. Peter goes to school where Max Modell and Horizon High are recruiting for a new student. Peter's best friend Harry Osborn goes there as well and he encourages Peter to try to get in. The device they've are showing malfunctions and Peter saves the school by defusing the device, and Max is impressed and offers him the position at Horizon. It is also established that Spencer Snythe, who is a teacher at Midtown, has a beef with Model, and he rigged the device to malfunction and he frames Harry for the malfunction, getting the latter expelled. The Vulture then appears and kidnaps Max, and we find out that he was hired by Smythe. Spider Man stops the Vulture and saves Max. The episode ends with Peterborough worrying about whether or not May can pay the bill for him to go to Horizon.
Episode 2 starts with Peter on his way for his first day at Horizon, only for him to see the Scorpion stealing a jewel from a museum. Peter catcher Scorpion and heads to school. Harry asks Peter to collect his projects from Horizon. While at the school, Peter meets fellow
Students Anya and Miles. Peter uses his new resources to build a new spider man costume (the classic comic design with the Homecoming-style "special features". That night, the spider slayer robot attacks and Peter fights it off. The robot steals Harry's projects, which include what appears to be a proto-pumpkin bomb. The robot then kidnaps Harry the next day but A spider Man destroys it, although Harry accuses him of working to destroy his life (it makes more se sense in context then it does in this hastily written synopsis). Peter tells Max about his money woes and Max offers him a paid internship. Peter tells May this and she says how Ben would have been proud of him. Meanwhile, we see that Smythe was controlling the spider slayer robot, and he mentions some sort of master plan.

The show has none of the fourth wall breaking stuff. I could see them taking the criticisms of Ultimate to heart. It doesn't feel too self aware honestly. It's not super amazing greatness, but it's a fun show that some fans will probably enjoy very much. It feels a lot like that Spidey series by Robbie Thonpson.

Max model being impressed by peter Stoping a malfunctioning device?
Peter using Horizon tech to make suits?
Almost straight out of BIG TIME!

Wasn't vulture also the villain in the first episode of spectacular Spider-Man to?

Thanks for the write-up, Matt Parker!

Wasn't vulture also the villain in the first episode of spectacular Spider-Man to?

As well as the villain in the first MCU Spidey film. It might be a bit of a tradition since the first supervillain he fought was Vulture, though some would dispute it's Chameleon.

Thanks, Matt Parker. Seems like I'm gonna like this show, despite some stuff I'm not feeling (Horizon, Joe the mentor, etc.)

I'm already feeling this Peter over Holland's, so that's a big plus.

Looks like the six part orgin mini is available On-Demand. Gonna check it out. :)

Same :funny: at least we won't be subjected to him worshipping the ground Stark walks on

Saw all six parts and I actually enjoyed them. I don't think most folks don't have to worry about the tone. The Uncle Ben part of the story was very mature and well written.
