That clip borders on USM cartoon level of cringeworthy. No, I take that back, it for sure crossed the border and set up camp.

Yeah...I was a bit more forgiving on the first 2 episodes but I'm not liking what I see here at all.

I thought it was ok, then came the 34th second. How did Herman guess that Spidey is a kid?

Because going by his voice he sounds like a boy that hasn't started puberty yet.
Same can be said about the new guy and his predecessor portraying the character for cinema. :oldrazz:
It bothered me about the games voiced by Sam Reigal before this show, street thugs jumped to the Spider-Kid conclusion.

To be fair, I think Tombstone guessed Spider-Man was younger than him in Spectacular

"That, my heroic friend, is what grown ups call... irony!"

Then again...that was a man who at least is in his mid 40's... and I've often heard people in that age range call people in their 20's kids...

However, yeah that clip is not making me exited for the show all that much... With so many teenage villains, are they all going to juvenile hall when apprehended? And why are all these genius kids making weapons?

There's been several times in various iterations where people made the assumption that Spider-Man was/is a 'kid.' Going by the sound of his voice to his stature/build. I don't see this as a problem. And like Mistah K88 pointed out, calling someone else a kid might also have something to do with their own age. But regardless, in this animated show, Spider-Man sounds very young.

Oh well, Ben Grimm immediately recognized him as a teenager first time they met in person.

When did Max Modell start his school? When did Norman Osborn react to that by starting his own school?

Obviously we can't hear the comic version but I would assume that his voice probably sounded young and he had a youthful, slender build. It's not unreasonable for Ben to think he's dealing with a kid.

Are those questions rhetorical? Cause I'm not sure we have that info, yet.

Nope, those are my curiosity at work.

The first two episodes were ok. Has some potential but is also cutting way too many corners visually that something just feels hollow about it. That clip for the 3rd episode however, is pure cringe. The majority of villains and heroes are going to pop out of the 3 schools, aren't they?

Mmm I seem to really like the show and almost everythibg they have shiwn, besides shocker being young and gwen helping spidey, what elese did eceryone found not good?

Also, i just noticed jackal uses claytons chestplate and hermans gauntlets...

That's the premise of it, yes. I think Sandman and Kraven are the only villains confirmed so far that have nothing to do with the school stuff. Maybe Hammerhead and Mr. Negative too, since they're mobsters.

This is straight up the closest Spider-Man has gotten to those popular types of anime where the main guy is trying be the best of the rest. Can't wait for the tournament arc which would pretty much be the "science fair" or some "battle bots royale" + the mentor teaches main guy to be better at what he does.

Can we wait for the underwhelming doofus to be the best there is, while still retaining a significant amount of his doofus attitude?

lol *sigh*

I'm actually liking it so far.

It is a bit better. I'm liking how they're setting up the subplots and the world building. It reminds me a lot of Spectacular. They also toned down Peter's obnoxious science references, which is appreciated.

The main conflict with Shocker and Clash was pretty bad, though. I did not care one iota about it and it took time away from other stuff that could've been set up.

Episode 3 was really solid. Yes, the Shocker/Clash conflict was forced and silly, but the action was legitimately exciting, the Jackal was spot on, Gwen was excellent, Norman is perfect, Harry and Peter's friendship is being handled very well, and Peter seems less obnoxious about the science. I think this episode could convince some people to stick with the show if the first two episodes didn't sell you.

The show is getting better and they are setting up characters and storylines to play out over the course of the show.

I'm questioning the Osborn school even more now. Something made by a student in another school using their material should be property of that school.

If you didn't like Gwen reminding Peter of something basic in TASM 2, you might like this episode even less.

It didn't take much for the two BFFs to pinch one another and wreck everything.

Spider-Man will definitely be known as Peter Parker to all his supporting cast in this show, I'm counting on it.

Nice homage to Spider-Man 2.

Either the Jackal is not Miles here, or this is like Sabrina the Teenage Witch TV series and Gwen is living with both of her uncles in the same house. I need a talking cat in this show.
