I am surprised and impressed this show is more serialized and not episodic like Ultimate Spiderman. Jeph Loeb pretty much implied that kids are not smart enough to follow serialized shows when he first started working with Marvel Tv.

Also I hope Gwen on this show won't be Spider Gwen or any nonsense like that.

Its going to happen at some point. One of the first promo art they released for this show was a group shot consisting of Spidey, Miles, and Spider-Gwen.

And Anya in her Spider-Girl outfit.

:csad:

Well, she already seems to be a better Spiderman than Peter so sure why not...

I hope we at least have a good amount of supporting characters that are not forced heroes or villains. I hope Aunt May does not have an alter ego in the comics.

TOO LATE

The rest of the guys so far might be leading up to whoever this big bad is that Smythe and Vulture were talking about.

Didn't the ending strongly imply that was Norman? With the stolen gear the Slayer got away with suddenly appearing at Oscorp and Norman bragging about Horizon's weak security?

That was my assumption. Just don't get why Spencer would be so antagonistic toward Harry if he has this partnership or fidelity to Norman.

I see them laying out Spectacular-like foundation with the Smythes, and Norman obviously. We haven't got TOO much from Octavius, so I can assume that he will get similar treatment since they decided to de age him to a similar age to Peter (for WHAT?) same with Shocker, as it is obvious they are trying to build him up for something... and kudos for this show making use of Shocker being intelligent enough to create the gauntlets that he uses, something that is even often ignored in comics, unless they have to make a joke about it. Also I can see them doing SOMETHING with the Jackal, being his animated debut in costume/transformation. And also being related to Gwen Stacy in this series However...he's already established as a criminal... so it's not so much of a build up on how he will become a super villain like Miles Warren was in Spectacular, but more so how he will be exposed and how his relationship with one of the main characters will be effected.

I will say that this show also has some similarity to the 90's animated series SO FAR with its treatment of some villains as well... In the 90's cartoon, some villains like Shocker and Rhino were already established criminals, and often were simply hired goons (they didn't even really have names outside of their super powered persona... unfortunately I can see this being the case with the Scorpion in this show. Even Vulture had SOME background (even if it was tell more than show), but Scorpion...I'd love to be wrong, but I don't ever see him being used outside of villain fodder like he was in his debut. Let's hope I'm wrong.

All and all... this show is still pretty "meh" to me....and I'm not looking forward to seeing everyone and their mom getting spider powers.

That's nice. Speaking of the tracer, I think Spectacular is the only animated series -with no movie ties- that did not feature one.

You know, after watching the first few episodes of the show I'm unsure of if this is the first time we've seen Black Cat having "bad luck" powers in animation, or if it is just Spider-Man being clumsy and "inexperienced" as he has been throughout the series so far.

Watched today's episode and could barely hear the dialogue

A lot of plot advancement this weekend. But what happened to episode 1.03?

Anyone think the Jackal thing was wrapped up a little quickly?

Yeah, they breezed through that. Rhino's was as well; just some chill Russian kid who unknowingly became a mindless monster.

Also, I figured Raymond would've had his own facility or joined some other school and was amassing an army from there. Having everyone tied to Osborn Academy makes the scope a lot smaller.

Shouldn't this be in the Spidey World section? What's it even doing in the Homecoming section?

EPISODE 04

Cool, Spidey thinks on his own without someone on his back telling him "Do it this way, do it that way".

Talking to a fan is pretty neat.

Clean up after a job done reminds me of a fun story from one of the issues of Spider-Man Family, or maybe that was the Amazing Spider-Man Family, Peter helps remove wreckage from one of his fights to make room for the boss he was in heading to a job interview, what poor luck ol Benjy had that day that the bus driver chose to leave him behind after what he did to him, and his boss to be was on that very same bus that day, and fired him.

Spider-Slayers and Norman Osborn remind me of the 90s cartoon, one shot reminds me of the Black Widow in Oscorp when Spider-Man was there to save Flash Thompson.

Harry's transfer papers is an awkward plot device.

Norman and Harry moment alone is great.

Poor Alexie.

Anyone else reminded by an episode of American Dragon by the dance party scene?

Class working on a cure for Rhino is neat. But I gotta wonder, shouldn't this Spider-Man inherit lessons from the previous cartoon version of himself about property damage? "The best kind of damage is no damage at all"

How come the bald brother is the Jackal in this one? And why does he transform like Ultimate Green Goblin?

Not a bad episode, I liked it more than the previous three.

Anyone think the Jackal thing was wrapped up a little quickly?

It did. I was hoping they would've taken their time with that to show more of Gwen, her relationship with Raymond, and to create some suspense. It felt very hollow and not emotional at all when they did the reveal. I also think they're rushing Harry's hatred of Spider-Man, particularly since it's based more on a dumb coincidence instead of a genuine Spidey screw-up.

I have no doubt we'll see Jackal again, though. They hinted he was the one that created the spider that bit Peter. He almost recognized Spidey, and there's still the fact that they're adapting Spider-Island.

That is an interesting way to defeat Black Cat.
NASA giving the symbiote to an advanced lab makes more sense than giving it to a simple college lab, this is one thing this show did better than the Spectacular Spider-Man.

Stop dancing like a moron you idiot, you look embarrassing.
