So Rhino was a teen in this? Also, from description, is he a mutated monster, or just trapped in a suit? Also symbiote introduced already?

Yes, he's a teen that was mutated into a rhino monster.

Yes, the symbiote was introduced in the episode before.

Wasn't really introduced it just made a small little scene but newer episodes will have it showcased.

Been busy with work and so I've still not seen episodes 4 & 5 :csad: I hope to get to them before the new one(s) drop.

I'm expecting more Cs and Ds, so you don't need to worry about missing these episodes.

I'm way too easy on them.

Spectaculare handled that much better

To be fair, he takes it off and and in the next episode something happens and its back on and we get to the scene where vulture takes black suit spidey to the sky

Finally had some time to sit down and watch Episode 4. Thoughts/review...

The opening action sequence was well done. The fight choreography was indeed fun to watch and nicely executed. Even though I still can't get past the sound of Spidey's voice, the banter here was actually pretty good. And I like how Peter was able to solve the issue on his own and the use of a science-type formula (maybe it was math) to get rid of the bomb was a cool touch. He's making progress as a hero--glad to see that.

So, now, Aleksei is apparently a genius too? Or at least, one more student enrolled at the prestigious Horizon High. It takes away from the importance of being smart when everyone is smart--saturated or overuse, whatever you wanna call it.

I do not like this Rhino design. I don't mind the organic approach, though I still prefer the armored suit, however in a show based around science I can totally get behind the physical transformations these villains seem to be making. However, I just don't care for the visual design. It looks like some other animal to me and not a Rhino. I'm curious to know what others think of it.

Ugh. I think we just caught our first glimpse of coffee house 'Joe' Quesadilla. Yuck.

The Norman (Keaton's voice work still a big positive!) and Harry scene was very cool. I can see how Norman cares for his son but is also using him/manipulating him at the same time. I'm looking forward to more from this relationship.

I really dug Miles in the previous episodes but man did he take a turn for the worse in this episode. For lack of a better word, annoying is how I'd describe his presence here.

Still loving Anya. If there's one character I'm looking forward to seeing the transformation into one of the 'Spider-Team' members, it is definitely Anya. She's cool, collected and of course smart, just like everyone else, but I'm digging her charisma. Good stuff.

I'm disappointed in the short reveal/wrap up to the Jackal storyline. It was only an episode or two ago that they introduced the Jackal and dropped that grenade with him not only being Raymond Warren but also being Gwen's Uncle. I was hoping that they would have drawn that out and created more suspense for the mystery surrounding his identity--imo this was a huge wasted opportunity. I wonder though, could this now allow for the entry of Miles Warren and he then takes up the Jackal character. It could be a sort of Green Goblin/Hobgoblin-esque story where now the real mystery begins as Raymond is serving time yet we've got another Jackal running around causing havoc. If they went that route, I'll forgive them for cutting short this current line.

What a very sincere, emotional, and well done moment between Peter and Gwen. Drawing comparisons between their Uncles, making a connection on a personal level and sharing an intimate moment. Very nice. I may actually start to care about these characters if they continue with building these relationships and connections.

And...another great moment here between Peter and Harry.

Overall this was a pretty enjoyable episode. There are a few negatives here and there with this entry and of course the usual ones that I have with this show that I won't repeat now, but in this episode the good outweighs the bad. I give this one a firm B-.

Turns out this is actually episode 5.

At least she's not Ava Ayala level annoying, yet.

You'll notice the flashback in Jackal episode being a present occurrence in Black Cat's episode.

Well f*** me sideways, lol. I watched the wrong one first. I'm blaming this on being overworked and from lack of sleep :o

Spectrum's OnDemand messed up with a couple of the episodes mislabeling them so I just went by episode description. Wouldn't be surprised if you had Spectrum, too. Which is by the way horrible.

Hah, I just noticed I haven't watched that ep either. Damn, they aired that on the same day.

And now it's my fav ep so far.

I recorded the episodes and double checked them to make sure and indeed the episodes are actually labeled incorrectly.

So...here's my thoughts/review for what is actually Episode 4:

Definitely a positive seeing the spider tracers in use.

I found Otto Octavious' dialogue a bit cringe-worthy especially the part about "staying away from love." As if a teenager, no matter how genius, would have any clue as to what that actually means.

I'm sorry but did he just say "Mr. Slott?" Please shut up and GTFO.

One thing I'm noticing a pattern for here with regard to the villains is how OTT and outright cheesy they are. They're not even attempting to hide their creepiness factor and the dialogue is just too much for me. Whenever they're talking, in this case Raymond Warren, it's like they are outright saying, "hey, look at me! I'm a bad guy!" All they're missing is a hokey laugh and a mustache to twirl. It's pretty lame imo.

I get that this show is all about science but do we really need a science breakdown every single time Spidey is going to rescue some people. And I'm willing to bet the 'science drawings' are not at all accurate to actual science, but even if they are, it's too much and it interrupts the action in a way that I feel is distracting.

This show has done a good job of showing Peter struggling with his day to day 'life' activities and trying to find a good balance between maintaining his relationships with friends and family, his education, etc. and being Spider-Man.

Anya is my favorite character in this show bar none. I know that I've said this repeatedly but I can't say it enough. The characterization is great and the voice acting is excellent.

Ok...I'm saving this part for last...Black Cat. *ahem* Anyone that knows me on this board should know that I am a big fan of Felicia Hardy. She's my favorite supporting character in Spider-Man. So...with any adaptations of her I tend to be more strict or biased, I suppose, when it comes to the standard to which I hold that particular interpretation. And, unfortunately, I found this version of Black Cat to be severely lacking. I really enjoyed the sound of her voice however most everything else left me feeling unsatisfied with her character. I suppose the visual design is ok...I don't really even mind the short hair. It works. And seeing her with the 'bad luck' powers was definitely a nice touch. However, her dialogue, the delivery of her lines, the 'fight' scenes with Spider-Man, the banter, and even her musical theme were all bad imo. I never really felt the connection between her and Spidey. And that's a shame because imo they have such a noteworthy bond. The affinity they have for one another, the exchanges they make and the way they play off one another wasn't there and if it was, it totally missed the mark. I'm sure she'll appear in more episodes down the line and so there's a possibility improvements will be made but as of now, I am not liking this version.

Not a terrible episode but not very good either, I give it a C-.

Only half-way into this Sandman ep and I think the show has really found its footing. They introduced the guy as a weather phenomenon and made the Spider-Man 3 angle work by having his daughter somehow getting caught up with his former boss, Hammerhead.

Hmm I hope the symbiote storyline will explore more.. I want to see Peter goes a Little bit evil.

Episode 6
Hmmmm, ok.

Episode 7
Hmmmm, ok.

Episode 8
Hmmmm, ok.

Nice foreshadowing of Agent Venom.

I've been a bit behind on the show. I haven't seen anything past episode 3 so I'm gonna try to catch up at some point this week.

Foreshadowing Agent Venom already? Huh....I've heard Flash has popped up in cameo, has he said any lines? I really hope they don't try and combine Flash and Brock together...that....that wouldn't work at all.

How did that thug figure Spider-Man doesn't know how to fully use his powers?

He spoke in episode 8, and I think there will be an episode for Eddie Brock as Venom.
