This actually sounds like it's shaping up pretty good. Although I really don't like the idea of seeing Optimus's mouth.

Doesn't bug me TOO much:o

Worked in Beast Wars...of course that was a cartoon.

I'd like that poster better if they didn't have that jackass Rodimus Prime on there.

Rodimus = The Spider-man of transformers...:eek:

Cast of Transformers so far, from IMDB. I know they are a horrible source but IGN pretty much confirms it.

Josh Duhamel .... Lennox (rumored)
Michael Clarke Duncan .... Figueroa (rumored)
Megan Fox .... Mikaela (rumored)
Tyrese Gibson .... Epps (rumored)
Shia LaBeouf .... Spike Witwicky (in negotiations)
Bernie Mac .... Bobby Bolivia (rumored)
John Robinson .... MIles (rumored)
Rachael Taylor .... Maggie (rumored)
John Turturro .... Simmons (rumored)
Travis Van Winkle .... Trent (rumored)
Jon Voight .... Keller (rumored)

Anyone else feel that there are waaaay too many human characters cast for this movie. I realize they are needed, but I really don't give that much of a crap about them. I want the majority of time spent on the robots.

I'm a pretty big TF fans and I have no idea who these guys are except Spike. I mean out of the human characters that had anything worth a damn would be... Spike, Spike's FAther, Spike's Son (Daniel), that cripple guy who was in a couple of episodes... and that's about it...

Transformers??? Well I think this movie will be good with Lebeouf as a good actor.

There will be amazing vissual efects and action sequences.

But I have doubts about this movie making huge box office.

Ok does this worry anyone that this may not be since this is from Aint It Cool News, considering their past with badly and wrong reporting?

I choose to believe it even if it's from Aint it Fake News. it just sounds so ****ing cool. Notice the word, ****ing, to give it that extra power.

zod, i hate shia lebouf....kids a terrible terrible actor! and i think its funny that bay had no interest in this project until they worked in the boy getting his first car angle (which means bay probably wasnt a fan of the general concept of transformers in the first place), and that bay thinks that'll anchor the humanity of the film amongst 2 hours of robo-action (plus, not to mention the ridiculousness that his car turns out to be a transformer....that scene playing out ought to be amusing for all the wrong reasons). why does the film have to take place on earth in the first place? seems pretty dumb. i was never a HUGE transformers fan (i was more into TMNT), but i dont think earth was ever involved. and i hate it that hollywood always feels that an audience wont get into a film unless there is a strong american presence that we can connect ourselves to. i dunno....i havent heard much about the film...but from what i HAVE heard, along with Bay's track record...this film is gonna be nothing more than eye candy fodder with little to no story to uphold it.

That's cool everyone has there own opinions...

All right I guess this is a decent enough argument, but I don't get how this is a bad thing? A little bit of tongue in cheek comedy about huge battling robots that transform into cars along with tons of awesome battle scenes... Isn't that what the fans want but I digress everyone has there own opinions...

And this is when mediocre post hits the crap pile. First off, you criticize Bay for not being a fan and then you admit to not being one yourself, and now this isn't where the fault lies, it's in the fact that your presumpious enough to go on and describe how to make a good TF film. First off one of the enduring qualities of TF is the pain the Autobots hold for involving humans in there battle, that's part of its charm and how the Decepticons don't care at all. Hell in TF the Movie, Daniel gets as much screen time as the Transformers themselves do and he continues to do so in the 3rd season.

Yeah... You're the type of person I don't like, self proclaimed film buffs who can't even enjoy the simpler things. I absolutely love Micheal Bay films, not counting The Island. They do what films are suppose to do which is entertain. Somewhere on these boards people seem to find good synonamous with deep. Transformers is not deep, it has some good characterizations but it definately not deep. It's not your difference in opinion that bothers me, it's how you jump to conclusions based on lies and thigns you've come up with for yourself.

I <3 you in a manly way Movies205:O ...except i liked The Island:o

Well it's not terrible or anything but it could of been a lot better. For example the first hour would of been great had the previews not given away the secret so it just became really anti-climatic. The inclusion of Micheal Clarke Duncan, he made me think his character was going have more simply because he's Micheal Clarke Duncan. And then the second hour is completely ridiculous it's like they took the car chase scene from bad boys 2 and just updated it 40 years in the futrue and the charactesr are ridiculous, like that black guy.

You make some good points,it does lose it's way in the second half and deteriorate into extremely cool but ultimately nonsensical action as after chase one(the hover bikes) it has nowhere to go and no way to wrap it's narrative up satisfyingly

Like I said before it doesn't need to be deep, I absolutely love Bad Boys 2, but I simply just can't watch random **** get blown up and things that are tottally unrealistic happen like trained mercenaries shooting into crowds of people... It destroys it for me :( Bad Boys 2 is my Bay Film because the Rock gets old after a while... :(

i dont want to get into a huge debate over this, so all i'll say is: michael bay makes movies that are all flashy action eye candy, with no substance. now, im cool with action movies, im cool with popcorn flicks, im cool with watching movies for the sole purpose to be entertained and nothing more....but thats not an excuse for a movie to have little to no story to hold up the 2 hour action sequences that bay has a tendancy to produce. i cant imagine transformers is gonna end up being anything different. now, if your a michael bay fan, if you enjoy a bunch of car chases and things blowing up with no story or purpose behind it...all right, thats cool, thats your opinion....i dont understand it, but whatever....

The Rock and Armageddon had story behind the action
