i like a more realistic cartoony though... this is so unbelievably fake looking (as in, they don't look like real character at all- at least with the other artists they seemed like real people to me)

The art would fall short on that basis, but its selling point is the "unrealistic" fluidity to it. If the art were stock and static, it'd suck. But with the dynamic, fluid feel and look to it, it's saved.
