Daredevil New York bulletin ---> Daily Bugle. All things Spiderman (possible spoilers)

I vaguely recall someone on the DD team saying that
Ben Urich's death wouldn't have happened if they knew the Spiderman rights would be returning to Marvel
, so that could be taken as a hint that they're intending to bring Spiderman or the Daily Bugle in.

However, I agree it's more likely other MCU characters will appear with Spidey before Matt Murdock ever will. They're trying to tie Spiderman with the rest of the Avengers, and so far, the Defenders are separate from that. Maybe it'll happen in future movies, but not the first Spiderman. Possible that he could turn up in AOS though, since that is already basically a companion piece to the movies.

Personally I hope DD stays away from the rest of the MCU for now. I know it's all the same universe anyway but I'm getting crossover fatigue.

would you mind finding a source for that?

If only the deal was made earlier, I started to watch DD like this year and every time they are in New York Bulletin in my mind it's going "This could have been the Daily Bugle, that could have been J.Jonah or Robertson talking to Ben"

Didn't he say that he had no info on if he would be appearing in the second season of Daredevil?

Probably because they wanted that to be a surprise, he wasn't in any marketing for it prior to it's premiere. If he was a main villain they would want to announce as soon as the ink on the contract was dry. So there's no need to deny unless they intend it to be a similar surprise in the sense of a cameo. I'm betting it's just a made up click-bait article.

Fisk is still in jail anyway and they're obviously planning to explore that further in Season 3.

We get dozens of these stupid clickbait claims with every movie.

it would be cool if homecoming's post credit scene is kingpin being let out from jail.

I think it would feel out of place and a moment like that should happen in DD. I think a smart cameo would have Fisk's lawyer or his new right-hand man be seen making a deal with the villains. Just a subtle little nod that yes, it is connected. Not enough to confuse general audience, but something that would get eagle eyed fans something to giggle over.

why would it feel out of place? cap, falcon & bucky were in the post credit scene in ant man and that had nothing to do with the plot of that movie

this would be more in place seeing as how it's NYC, among other things.

I'd say the chances of any Marvel Netflix character showing up in the main MCU movies, especially Spider-Man, are nil.

Because he will be featured heavily in Daredevil and I find it hard to believe he'll ever have a big role in Spider-man because of that. Also Falcon was in Ant-man. He had to major scenes in it, the final scene in the movie suggests he's tracking down Lang. The post credit scene indicates what's gonna happen next with Lang. It has quite a bit to do with the movie.

Fisk is a character already having a story play out in Daredevil and they're not gonna abruptly switch the continuation of it for one Spider-man movie when Spidey has a hue list of other villains they can use. Frankly, just because "it's NYC" won't be enough. Narratively speaking.

youre right, falcon was in antman. I forgot about that. But anyways, being that it is NYC is enough for me narratively. More than enough. As that was basically the building block in the comics.

They should have DD fighting on top of a building and it's rhe same building Peter lives in.

Hells Kitchen is in Manhattan and Queens is across the river.
I was about to say that, but if daredevil is taking a fight that ends up going all the way there, it can happen.

plus, I dunno if this was supposed to be canon or not but parts of season 2 were in Queens. not forest hills, but in long island city. that episode where punisher's got him all tied up, you can see the citi building in the background.

I love how Marvel Studios has expanded the universe through television and Netflix. I love for a fact that The Avengers all exist on the series but you don't ever see them.

But I have to admit it does feel weird to me, when watching Daredevil and realizing that the Avengers actually exist in this world, because Daredevil is so realistic in comparison to the Avengers films, suddenly seeing an Avenger on Daredevil would feel weird. It also doesn't feel like it is in the same world either, regardless, I would really love to see Holland's Spider-Man guest-star in at least one episode of Daredevil season 3.

I get that their objective is not to focus on other Marvel characters in the show (excluding the Defenders), and I love Daredevil for what it is, by not spending its time on other Avengers appearing in the show, and for me, it was the first in the MCU to successfully not make the audience think about the other Avengers appearing.

With Thor or Ant-Man, any time those movies made references to the other MCU characters, it made me a little more excited about seeing those characters consequently. Regardless, I wanted to like the characters in their standalone films, but I did later on.

Captain America: Civil War managed to do well for Captain America himself, in spite of having Spider-Man appear in the MCU for the first time.

It's hard to make a point out of this, but if Spider-Man showed up in Daredevil for one episode, that would be freaking amazing. I wouldn't worry about having Spidey show up and change the theme of the series, but the show can still be, and should still be dark, while Spider-Man can remain the same character and be humorous, only he'll be on a more, serious Marvel series.

Seeing Spider-Man and Daredevil team up in one episode would be awesome, 1) because Daredevil is an extended Marvel Universe show, and 2) having Spider-Man from the movies and guest starring on the show makes it all the much more exciting--and because the show is on Netflix. It would do really well for the Marvel Universe.

But mainly because both Matt Murdock and Peter Parker live in the same city but in different areas, Hell's Kitchen and Queens. Not even hearing a single or even a tiny reference to Spider-Man in the show would be disappointing.

If anything this show has succeeded on, it's being a standalone show, and not focusing on the easter eggs and references to the MCU. It should keep that tradition while having Tom Holland's Spider-Man guest star in at least one episode. It would be great. It's never been done before.

With that said though, with Tony Stark appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming...it looks more like a buddy-picture which has me at concern.

I think though, that by having Spidey guest in Daredevil, it would be a good idea to make one connection with the movies and the TV shows.

I'm also waiting for the day we see Ghost Rider (from Agents of SHIELD), Daredevil, Punisher, and the other Defenders show up in the Avengers. Not that Punisher will ever consider himself a part of the team though, or even be accepted by the Avengers.

I like the Netflix shows being separate, that's a good thing, but I don't want them to be too separate. Spidey in Daredevil...please make it happen Netflix and Marvel.

I wouldn't have considered any either Avenger to guest in Daredevil...Spider-Man would be the most interesting choice out of all in my opinion. They can tell a good story with these two.

You know that's not and probably never going to happen, right? So long as Marvel Studios and Marvel TV have beef with each other, and maybe even after that, you won't see characters from films appearing in Netflix shows. Heck, even the ones who appeared in SHIELD were just the likes of Sif, Fury, Maria Hill, and some others.

And even if they were gonna cross them over, they sure as heck would not be putting Spider-Man of all people in a show that has a reputation for being dark and not for kids.

It's never going to happen. And when I say never, I mean NEVER.

The best we can hope for is the Defenders cameo'ing in Avengers 3 or 4.
