He could lead an entire army into battle and everyone would follow him. :woot:
He has already done so,

:D

Personally I favor Dwayne more so then Channing, though Channing was surprisingly good in 21 Jump Street.

Is it just me or does it seem Snake Eyes isnt in the movie much? Him and SS were the only reason I got some enjoyment out of the first movie.

That International trailer was really great. Pretty hyped up for this. :wow:

I'm not sure why you would think that since he's featured in a few different scenes in the trailer. The guy is training new ninja comrades(Jinx) and gets what looks to be like an awesome mountain battle.

Chu has said that the story is basically divided between the stranded Joes story and Snake Eyes story and they'll come together in the end. There is going to be a 10 minute full on ninja action scene with no dialogue so I think its safe to say that Snake Eyes is in it quite a bit.

Hmmm... the international trailer makes it look like Storm Shadow switches sides and joins the Joes in this one. If memory serves me correctly, he did that several times in the cartoons too.

Anyway, this is looking better and better. I just hope we get a lot of (the real) Cobra Commander in this because I love his look.

The International trailer had some cool new shots, I love how stylized this looks, lots of big character "Hero/villain" shots.

New International Trailer

I like this more than the two US trailers, mainly because Storm Shadow is my favorite G.I.Joe character (for both Joe and Cobra), and I can see that they want to capitalize on Byung-hun Lee so he gets a ton of scenes in this trailer. Would be nice if SS switch sides in this movie, because like Rowsdower said he did that in the cartoon and in fact one of his action figures belongs to the Joe. Hmm, can't believe that I'm starting to look forward to a G.I.Joe movie after the stinker that was the first movie that made a mockery out of this cherished franchise.

Good to know, him and Storm Shadow made the first movie for me, and made me buy a few comics of each character also, would hate to see either shafted.

Yeah, the two new trailers have really impressed me.

Looks like Storm Shadow is in the safe house with the other Joes at the end of the international trailer. Does he switch sides in this movie?

I still can't decide if I'll see this in the theater. It looks good, it's just... ugh, I just can't shake the stink of the first movie completely off, ya know? But two things will probably get my ass in a seat:

1. If reviews are really good.

2. If we get to hear Cobra Commander's voice in one of the upcoming promotional spots, and it sounds like the raspy cartoon version and not Generic Demon Voice #6.

Yeah this is the best trailer so far!

Let the Retaliation begin!

I think the trailer for this one is ALREADY better than the first movie. This one seems to have a darker tone which it should have.It seems to me that the Joes have all the stakes against them in this one.I liek that there are more ninjas and the mountain battle scene looks to be very interesting.
Now i know alot of people hated the first one.I didnt hate it but i believe it could have been better than what the final product was.I do think they should have brought back the members from the first one even if they would have killed them off bc it seems from the trailer i think someone says something about them being wiped out or something along those lines.I think that would have possibly added more to this movie by adding the deaths from the characters we saw in the first.
I wasnt really too ineterested in this movie when i first heard about it but the trailers have done their job and have made me want to go see it.This summer will be big for movies (The Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, GIJoe Retaliation, Amazing Spiderman).

Well I never saw the first one so no stink on me!

Channing Tatum looks to be killed off early so yay!

Elodie Yung is in this so triple yay!

NIIIINNJJJAAAAASSS!

THR: Do you fully address getting rid of the guys from the previous film at the beginning of the movie, or how does that sort of work?

Chu: Yes and no. We address a little bit, but also leave some of it up in the air. But in my mind, the movie was never about them; the movie is about our characters that you introduced from the beginning. We wanted people to come into this movie and, if you haven’t seen the first movie, be totally OK, which is actually pretty tough because Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow are hard to explain to somebody who had never seen G.I. Joe. But we leave some of it open, so you’ll see.

The trailers do look good but I still don't know yeah. I still need to be convinced that this is a good Cobra Commander and they aren't messing around like the first movie.

Hey does anyone know if Duke is killed in this one? I was just looking at the trailer and i see the part where the Rock's character takes some dog tags off one of the Joes and another Joe says "They're all dead." Just wondering if that was supposed to be Duke, couldnt really see the persons face.
I hope they tell what happened to the Joes from the first one.

I think you can guess from the couple of trailers, that Cobra has infiltrated their base and eliminated a good portion of the Joes, including ones that were introduced in the last one. I feel Duke will die during the course of the movie (at least I hope it happens, because I like a lot of people can't stand Tatum even if he was good in 21 Jump Street) Rock's character is probably taking the dog tags of the Joe's who perished on the attack from Cobra in the beginning of the movie.

Don't know what to think of this movie.

I'll wait until reviews come in and decide then.

Trailer makes this look like a lot of fun.

Great additions/subtractions to and from the cast. Love the idea of COBRA being sold as a peacekeeping organization and the JOES ostracized...is there a precedent for this in any of the shows/comics?

I'm not sure why people expect Duke to die. It's Channing Tatum. He gave what is actually one of his best performances in GI JOE, and whether you like him or not, the man is being positioned to succeed in Hollywood.

One of his best performances? That's up for debate. Even if so he's been terrible in a lot of things that it just seemed better in comparison. But that still doesn't make it good.

Yeah, I don't see how Channing Tatum gave one of the "best" performances in GI Joe. I'll give him that he at least looked the part of a soldier. But so do a million other guys out there who can't act.

The only way Tatum gave one of the best performances in that movie is if you feel that all of the actors were equally terrible and thus no one was better or worse than him.

I know a lot of people don't like the character of Duke because he's a hardass, by-the-book type. But there are ways of playing that type of character without making him boring as f**k. It just takes a good actor and solid writing. Granted, GI Joe had terrible writing, but Tatum's monotone, bland, half-asleep performance actually managed to bring the movie down further.

Uh yeah, basically the whole premise copies GI JOE: Renegades animation from the Hub. Was about a group of select renegade GI JOES on the run as fugitives from a publicly "benevolent" Cobra organization. Joes every episode trying to expose and bring down Cobra.
