I love the Left behind movies, they are so stupid and boring (in the second one, NOTHING EVER HAPPENS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE MOVIE except for a 20 second bit near the ending) but I love them to death because of that.

The best one is the second one only because of this:

I'm really surprised Cage hasn't landed a leading role on TV. Very few shows on television would be worse than some of the films he's done in recent years.

He could fit right in with Sesame Street.

I tried watching the first movie... it just was too much.

I love how the opening scene the guys attacking Israel with jet fighters start bombing the hell out of a wheat field for no apparent reason.

The thing about the Left Behind books with the exception of the beginning of the first and end of the first two they start off boring as hell. I never made it past book 4 in truth but I always intended on going back and starting them again. Anyways, I know what happens and if they could get a decently written plot and condense the first three books into one movie with probably leaving some characters out they could be pretty good. It'd work MUCH better as an HBO or Showtime series IMO though. There's just so much engaging dramatic moments that a tv show could handle it a movie though not so much and the first movie with Kirk proved that. The books get ****ing insane though, and ****ing BRUTAL. The later books was be ****ing epic to see on the big screen. I did read book 10 out of boredom in jail years ago and it was just so awesome how bad Carpathia starts to lose his **** and when he's outside sun tanning in like 200 degree weather LMAO. Those books get ****ing wild lol

HBO's already doing it's own Rapture thing

And considering who's writing it and the author of the book it'll be based on, I think I'm Team HBO on this one.

The best thing in the stories though are the awesome names to the characters, I mean DIRK BURTON, BUCK WILLIAMS, NIKOLAJ CARPATHIA... it's like they sat in the meeting and just wrote down the most obviously manly names they could think of, and them put them together while drawing out of a hat

I don't see the need to cast other actors for this. It must be easier, and cheaper, to convince Nic Cage that the end times are happening for real, and then follow him around with a camera as he acts out the movie with terrified strangers.

I don't have a real problem with the three Left Behind films considering the budget that they had for making them. For those who BELIEVE, the movies were a good opportunity to share the Gospel about Jesus Christ, and to make viewers aware of the times that we are living in.

And YES, I do believe in an imminent Rapture! Not ashamed to say so.

Imminent events as I interpret what is happening in the world:
> Destruction of Damascus - Isaiah 17 - just look at the civil war in Syria, get convinced!
> Egypt under dictatorship of tyrant - Isaiah 19 - it has already happened.
> Attack by a group of nations against Israel - see the conspiracy in Psalm 83.
> Attack by another group of nations against Israel - see Ezekiel 38 & 39 - Russia, Iran, Turkey involved.
> ???United States destroyed??? - Isaiah 18 - Is the land beyond (in distance, not direction) the rivers of Ethiopia the United States? There has been some speculation about this.

The first 'series' of Left Behind films ran out of steam partly because the main actors and actresses involved became too old to fit in a seven year (Tribulation Period) time frame. I cannot see how this wouldn't happen again.

It will be interesting who will play the antichrist, Nicolae Carpathia!
