Nintendo Amiibo figures.

Fairly sure I'm done with Amiibo. I'll grab ONE yarn Yoshi when he can... but, I don't see myself getting anymore.

Ship more or less sailed. I was hooked, then Nintendo just failed on shipping and stock.. So screw it.

I'm in the same boat. Nintendo dropped the ball with the supply. I'm not gonna pull my hair out over it anymore. Moving on.

You guys aren't even going to get figures if they're easy to find? Or are you just interested in the super rare ones.

Right now I'm only interested in the characters I want. Wario, Charizard, Olimar and Bowser JR. I want the Mewtwo one whenever it comes around, but the massive hunt for every single amiibo is done for me. If they release the yarn yoshi as part of a bundle with Wooly World I'll get that one, but otherwise I'm not stressing over them.

That's how I always tackled it. I never wanted them all.

It just happened that the ones I really wanted were the rare ones. Ike, Dedede, and Shulk are ones I'd kill for but have never found. Common ones like Pikachu, Peach, Luigi and Mario I own, but there not favorites by a long shot.

Yeah, that does suck. The only super rare ones that I really wanted were Captain Falcon, Little Mac, Wii Fit Trainer, and Shulk. I've been lucky, though, I've managed to get all of them outside the Captain.

I've got Captain Falcon luckily. I wanted Toad from the Super Mario line, but not bad enough to stress too much. What's annoying about the Toad shortage is he's the only character not available in the Smash line, so they knowingly made less? When I go to my local Gamestop, Wal-Mart or Target the shelves are lined with Mario's, Luigi's, Bowsers, and Yoshi's from both the Smash line and the Super Mario line. That's it.

Hm, interesting. I found Toad really easy to find. My local Gamestop still has a few, I think.

I have never seen one in person. My local Gamestop told me he was shipped two in his original shipment and hasn't seen one since and doesn't think he's getting any more of them.

That's pretty weird. I think he was considered pretty uncommon for a decent amount of time. Been phased out now, it seems, at least online but he was pretty available there for awhile.

Guess I missed my window. Hopefully he comes back, but I doubt it. I mainly want him because I want all those Mario Kart 8 costumes. I can deal with just buying the amiibo card for that if that ever comes to be.

Apparently, Nintendo put this on their NOA Facebook:

Heads up! Marth and a few other amiibo like Meta Knight and Ike will be hitting shelves in limited quantities over the next few days.
For more information on timing and availability, be sure to visit your local retail stores or check out their websites.

Might get lucky and find myself an Ike, though I still really, really ****ing doubt it.

Nintendo UK tweeted that Yarn Yoshi will be compatible with over 40 amiibos, all giving patterns. Don't think there's a full list out there yet, but here's a video that shows the patterns for Link, DK, and Mario.

Oh man that's cool. Can't wait to see what some of these designs look like. Mega Man Yoshi? A boy can dream.

Don't know if anyone here is still on the amiibo hunt here in NA, but it's looking like Target is going to enforce a 2 amiibo per customer limit (that is not 2 of each character, that is 2 total, period). Their twitter account has said it will be a "by store" policy, but these signs are being put up and most who inquire have been told this, so it seems to be pretty standard.

Well, looks like Amazon US decided to just not do pre-orders for Wave 4 after all, and they are doing Wave 4 like this instead, with each figure having it's own dedicated time slot for tomorrow and limited to one per customer:

Hey everyone,
I apologize for being radio silent over the last week, we've been finalizing our plan and have been trying to ensure everything is as buttoned up as we can possibly make it. I'd like to stress that quantities are very limited, and while we're taking action to try to make this fair by limiting to 1 per customer, not everyone will be able to purchase the amiibos they're looking for. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread over the next few hours to answer questions that you guys may have.
Here's the email that anyone who signed up to be emailed when product is available will be receiving:
Thank you for your interest in ordering the new amiibo figures from Amazon.com! Quantities of the new characters are extremely limited, so we'd like to ensure that as many customers as possible have the opportunity to get the new figures!
Throughout the afternoon of Friday, May 29, we'll be posting each Wave 4 amiibo figure individually within the following time windows. Each will become available for purchase at a random time during that time frame. Mark your calendars for the following times tomorrow!

Pac-Man: 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. PT
Charizard: 2:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. PT
Inkling Boy: 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. PT
Lucina: 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. PT
Wario: 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. PT
Inkling Girl: 4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. PT
Silver Mario: 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. PT
Robin: 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. PT
Inkling Boy, Girl, and Squid 3-pack: 6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. PT

We're limiting each amiibo figure to 1 per customer, and we'll be disabling 1-Click Ordering. Additionally, it'd be helpful to make sure you've updated your credit card and shipping information to help you move quickly through the checkout process.
We've seen a tremendous amount of interest for the latest wave of amiibo figures and we're always working with Nintendo to get our hands on more. While we cannot guarantee that every customer who wants an amiibo will be able to purchase one when they become available on May 29th, we are doing our best to make sure customers have an opportunity to purchase their favorite characters!
We thank you for your continued support and loyalty over the years.
Damn fine job on Amazon's part, I think. It kind of sucks that such measures had to be resorted to, but at least they stepped up and came up with a solution that's as fair to everyone as possible.

I don't think Charizard or Wario will be hard to find after the initial launch, but as far as the rest of these (especially Lucina, Robin, and Silver Mario), I hope you see this post by tomorrow, because this might be the last chance you get. The Splatoon ones are kind of a wild card for how rare they'll be.

EDIT: Okay, so he also just added this, which really complicates this a lot more.

I'd also like to make sure it's perfectly clear -- Each amiibo will not go live right on the hour or half hour. We're flipping them live at a random point within each 30 minute window to try to keep this fair.

So yeah...

EDIT 2: On how rare the figures will be:

Extremely, very, exceedingly [insert more words] limited. I wish we had more so everyone could get them, but unfortunately we know these will sell out quite quickly.

So....yeah.

I got to see the stock of Amiibo's my work has for tomorrow. They have 3 Warios, 3 Charizard, 3 Pac-Man's, a bunch of the Splatoon Amiibo's, and....one of Robin and Lucina...yep, they'll be gone before I get to work tomorrow...sigh...

If I see an Amiibo I want.. I'll grab it.. But I'm done hunting them and I'm done paying stupid Amazon prices. I've narrowed my collecting down to NECA Predators with the occasional Xenomorph.. Gotta save shelf space.

Well... Walked into Greninja, Charizard, Pacman and Silver Mario.. Only getting two. Silver Mario looks like crap... So does Wario (they have him.. Don't plan on getting him) and I rarely use Pacman in Smash.. So..

Edit: went with Charizard and Greninja. Silver Mario looked like crap and couldn't convince myself to get him.. Plus there were about 30 on the peg hooks so I doubt he ends up being rare. No one also appeared to want Wario.. But in his Wario Ware gear I don't blame them and there were a good bit of Pacmen just chillin'.

They were low on Char and Greninja.. Made the choice easy.

Also.. There were a ton of inklings too.

Silver Mario will be rare, but yeah, I agree it doesn't look that good. Neither did the Gold Mario either really. Not sure what it is, maybe the shade of the coloring but they look off.

You really think? I seriously counted 30.. Walmart had 16... GameStop had 12..in comparison I never seen a Gold one.
