No evil shall escape my sight...The Official John Stewart Thread

Is John Stewart required for the GL Corps in this new DCCU?

  • Yes and I think he should be the main Green Lantern.

  • Yes, but I want him to be a complementary Green Lantern for the Corps.

  • No. we only need one Green Lantern.

I'd be totally fine with Tyrese.

Also, that picture left out Gadot as WW :(

Ditto. Not my 1st pick for the role, but I'd rather him get it than John being shafted and not cast at all again. I'm not gonna hate on him for his enthusiasm

Great actor, but unless F4 flops hardcore and sequels are scrapped, I'd say there's zero chance of this ever happening.

There isn't only one black actor named Michael around you know.

LOL, whoops. OMG I'm sorry. For some reason I read "Michael B. Jordan" and not Michael Jai White. I am stupid.

Anyway, I do like Michael Jai White, but I doubt WB is going to pull from their CW-verse for this. I do hope that eventually MJW makes a Black Dynamite sequel though. That movie was epic.

Well with these John Stewart/Green Lantern rumors for JL and possibly solo films in 2018/2019...I'm going throw this sleeper as John Stewart, if WB's doesn't go young for John.

I actually think Terry Crews would be a great choice as John Stewart/GL. He would be right along the lines of The Rock as John Stewart. Crews has screen presence, charisma, humor, intensity, physicality and can do action.

I would much rather see Crews ahead of Tyrese as Stewart/GL.

agreed. He looks more of a Military man than Tyrese...

If they are going to choose Tyrese then they need to cover his hideous tattoos and make him bulk up much more and try to give him goatee. Which I don't think he can grow by himself.

DAVID OYELOWO - He was in The Butler and played MARTIN LUTHER KING JR in SELMA...
a brilliant actor and looks the part. He just needs to workout and get in shape for the role

What disappoints me is that if Tyrese hadn't campaigned so hard DC would've considered a much more apt actor for the role. I hope they did not cast him and Tyrese is just being a troll.

Ugh, I cringe every time this guy opens his mouth about GL. This is nothing new, he has talked about having "meetings" with WB for months. If this is true and WB is actually playing with the idea of hiring him, then they don't take the GL franchise as seriously as I hope they would. Pine as Hal Jordan might work, Tyrese as Stewart is bleh.

Plot twist: Tyrese has actually been cast as one of the alien Green Lanterns.

John is a really easy role to play, Tyrese could nail this in his sleep

Hal has so much more personality and is so much harder to cast

Tyrese will be fine

I would disagree.. Sure Hal has much more of a likeable personality.. but John has much more depth and that would work really well with DC's current universe… John Stewart has seriousness and discipline of a Military man..

Tyrese honestly can't do any of that…. Nor does he look the part.. John stewart is not a comical supporting character..I really hope he plays an Alien green lantern that is much more close to his generic personality

This is a lot likely… Or else he wouldn't be very open about this… John Stewart is a main character….. DC/WB won't give a guy who plays the same comic relief role in every film this big of a role..

Apart from his look, which is passable, there is nothing about Tyrese that indicates he can play John Stewart how it's supposed to be played regardless of how easy or difficult you think playing him may be.

If that makes any sense.

Eh I don't know, I'm not the biggest John fan either, but even I want Tyrese as far away from this role as possible. I never liked him.

ERIK KING is my Number 1 Pick.. he has that charisma that they could fuse with the character to make him more interesting…
If you don't know him, he played Doakes in DEXTER… "Surprise @$@#%@"

Erik King isn't a bad suggestion. Haven't seen him in anything since Dexter but he certainly looks the part and can do the whole "no-nonsense, by-the-book badass" thing.

I think he could do well in the role. The MMA image is former UFC fighter Marvin Eastman tho

well the one thing is Tyrese is ridiculous in everything.. He would have to really change his image for him to play the role. Which I don't think he can or will do successfully. He needs to get physically bigger and be able to grow facial hair.

Although I like the goatee look on JS, he's rarely been depicted with facial hair in the comics.
