The Amazing Spider-Man No Mary Jane for reboot?

^ She's played in Raise Your Voice and the Cheaper By The Dozen franchise as well as some other stuff but this is how she looks as a blonde these days:

So, we get a Spidey movie perhaps with Gwen as Peter's love interest?

This is actually news that has me excited!

I wish Lizzie McGuire came on more.

^ LOL,that show actually wasnt bad but it started the wave of the crap that Disney Channel has been churning out these days as well as convincing every Disney Channel actor/actress that they can be great singers even when they're not.

Either way,I have nothing against Duff or her being in the running for Gwen but I doubt that others feel the same.

Duff as a love interest. Pass... alot.

I don't want to see Hilary Duff, because let's face it, that's all who we will see. I want to see whoever the character is.

Totally agree. Nothing against Hilary, neither hate her nor a fan of her's per say, but think too that she is too known of an actress. I would rather them cast more of a up and coming unknown (like they did with Garfield).

I don't think name is an issue for me. I just would not like it being Duff. She is not that great an actress. Hot yes, but not a fan of her as an actress. I'd rather they go for talent. Name or unknown is immaterial to me.

That doesn't make sense. Bay was TOLD to use Optimus and Megatron. Singer was TOLD to use Prof. X, Wolverine, and Magneto. Raimi was told to use Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2. Raimi didn't write the script for Spider-Man 2. So he was told how to do his job in that respect as well. But you know what? The movie was great. Venom sucked because Raimi didn't want to use him and was forced. Raimi was even allowed to write the script! Venom sucked because Raimi didn't like him. So he changed him to some stupid doppleganger or whatever.

How can Raimi be told to use Doc Ock but then not write the script? That makes sense to you?

Uh Venom being Peter's doppleganger wasn't the part that sucked. Did you want them to use a god-awful wrestler or fake Hulk cgi? Venom sucked because he was shallow in a full movie.

Raimi's original cut was nearly 3 hours long. The studio asked him to cut it down. We also know that a lot of additional scenes were shot but were cut. So for all you or myself know, Raimi's original film could have been so much better. A lot of the things that I hated in SM3 were not in his original. Mary Jane goes to Harry to ask for help because Gwen was the one that was kidnapped by Venom so no butler. Venom threatens Sandman at the park to help him destroy Spider-Man or else he will hurt his kid so no random alley team up. Sandman has a lot more depth as he visits his girl's doctor and beats him up. Sandman's daughter also stops him from killing Spider-Man. Of course we will never know what SM3 would have been like had the studio left the creative minds alone but alas.

Also, I am curious...who told Sargent, Millar, Gough, and Chabon to use Doc Ock for Spider-Man 2? Who told Bryan Singer to use Wolverine and Magneto for X1?

We won't even touch on Bay using Optimus and Megatron because we all know he was going to use them. That would be like making a Spider-Man movie without Spider-Man.

How do we know SM3 was originally 3 hours long? If so, I hope they release it someday. I would love to see a fanedit.

Back before SM3 was going to be released we got wind that they cut it down and the reasoning was that no child is going to sit in a theatre for 3 hours.

^ Sadly that could have been possibly right to think that because people seem to only watch 3 hrs movie when the name of the director is James Cameron, lol

I feel the same...I won't see the character, I'll be seeing Duff.

Not that I have anything against Duff...

Duff would play a better mj than gwen... i don't see her as gwen at all.

I do not remember "getting wind" of that (love that phrase :woot:). Do you have a link or thread where that was discussed?

Sad, if they based it on NO KID setting through a 3 hour movie. REALLY SAD, and speaks VOLUMES to me, in regards to a more serious/realistic approach.

There's an entire thread dedicated to the deleted and alternate scenes in Spider-Man 3...WITH PHOTOS!!!!! Just go look for it in the Spidey 3 archives.

I understand that, I just do not remember talk of that prior to the movie being released. Especially the reason being that no "child" would sit through a 3 hour movie, so I would love to read about it.

It happened when Grant Curtis released his book about the making of the movie. It featured photos from a bunch of scenes that we knew weren't gonna make it into the final cut. Then, there was that featurette that screened on AMC theaters in December 2006. There was a quick shot of Sandman's wife and daughter at the construction site. When people started attending critic/advance screenings in April they informed us that the ending was different.

i honestly do not mind Hilary Duff

she's an ok actress and is beautiful

HUGE upgrade over Dunst

seems that we will be getting Gwen :woot:

Thanks for the info! Do you know if there was a thread talking about it, and if the official explanation was that a "kid would not sit through a 3 hour movie"?

Again, Thanks! But I had already seen that thread before the post in this thread, and had seen the deleted scenes, etc... but I had not seen in the thread any comment about the "kid not being able to sit through a 3 hour movie" being the deciding factor cited for the cuts.
