Norton Reprising the role of Banner = Up to the fans

It'd be nice to have him back. But with a better director.

And PLEASE, don't leave this kind of decisions to the press and fans.

I would prefer a new guy.

I just didn't like the Incredible Hulk movie so anybody associated with it would displease me. As for Norton saying "does that continuity matters to you?" i'm saying a big NO! It wasn't great enough to matter. It wasn't the definitive Hulk movie. They should hire Jason Patric. I also love that as a fellow geek, Norton understand that what he did may not have pleased the fans as much as it should. He knows how we think, at least. Now be a gentleman and step out of the way. :woot:

Well, TIH didn't convince me either, but I think a third reboot would be a little messy.

I dont why this would be up to the fans, surely its a studio and actor decision, but anyway, yes I would like him back.

TIH wasnt as good as Ang Lee's Hulk in my personal view, but if they gave Norton something more to work with he would put in a great performance, just not sure about LL returning, after seeing the reception for Clash Of The Titans.

If we were going to actually try to donate money to this, it would have to be much more gimmicky. He's into all the environmental/"green" issues right? We would have to set up a "Green Hulk Project" and have fans of his/TIH pledge to donate money to it, which will then go out to some environmental charities, if he returns.

TIH is my most watched blu-ray. more than ironman more than the dark knight. those two rely more on ideas that once viewed cannot be relived in the same way. but the emotions the incredible hulk deals with can be experienced anew every time. it's beautiful and brilliant and even liv tyler was a perfect fit for her role. norton must come back even if there is no banner because he is the authority on the way this hulk should act.

I'd love for him to return. It's one of the better casting choices in a superhero film and one of the very few that pretty much embodies the character. But give him a better script to work with(leave Penn out of it).

I don't know if I can handle another recasting of my favorite character.

Norton please jump on board

Coming from someone who hates the concept of the Hulk in the comics, the Incredible Hulk made me really appreciate the character in a way I never though possible, and it'd be a shame for Norton to be recast, or for the huge improvements that movie made on its predecessor to be all for nothing. The Hulk shouldn't have to suffer the same fate of The Punisher, who can't seem to hold his own on film, so if Norton suggests the fans get that point across, then I think all those who believe in his performance should be as vocal as possible and hope that sentiment spreads like wildfire.

This is seriously getting to be horse crap ..... what better dynamic could you get on-screen than RDJ's Iron Man and Norton's Banner?

Personally, this is the way to add "cool" back into the Hulk character. The marketed was an abomination for TIH and it stood no chance to rectify the travesty that was Ang's Hulk. Having him in "The Avengers" is the fresh new injection the character desperately needs. I mean just for contrasts sake to have the Hulk as the "unknown" variable would be cinematic gold.

I truly want a TIH sequel that has the Leader & Co, the Hulk, Tony Stark & Friends...and the GAMMA BOMB.

The GAMMA BOMB could be the evil scheme by the Leader that Hulk has to stop. Cuz you gotta have an evil scheme. (Ya hear me over there, Favreau?)

Exactly, but it plays out like a suspense/disaster film where different forces are scrambling to possess and control the gamma bomb.

I want Edward Norton back as Banner more than I want Tobey Maguire to return as Peter Parker! And I loved Maguire as Pete! I would explode with happiness if there was a TIH2. EXPLODE.

It was probably a bad idea and a little shortsighted to get someone like Ed Norton as Banner. But then again hindsight is 20/20.

him not coming back isnt that bad, he wasnt that good in the role anyway IMO.

The thing is, Ed Norton is a very good performer but he always wants a lot of creative control for his projects. And like . . . everyone has to listen to him and do what he says and agree with all of his ideas.

Now it seemed to start that way to get him on board for The Incredible Hulk, then he had that little tiff with I guess David Maisel.

I mean I'd want him to come back because I liked his Banner and I'd like to see him interact with people like Downey's Stark, but oh well. However the other thing is if Norton is involved you have to deal with his exerting a lot of control and influence over the project as well.

Apparently Marvel are looking to cast an unknown in the role of Banner for Avengers:

Here's the actual story link from Drew "Moriarty" McWeeny.

It's actually a little surprising to hear Moriarty be a little more critical about Marvel since he's been pretty gungho and supportive of Marvel Studios in his previous stories and in our conversations.

Here's what I think it came down to. I think it's more than just Norton's salary. I think it's all the possible extra headaches that will come with Norton being involved with the production that Marvel wants to avoid. Now I mean, could be wrong there, but look what happened with Incredible Hulk.

I think it's also Norton's presence and that if Norton is in he has to be like ALL IN.

Now to be fair, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. is getting some special privileges and a little creative say here and there . . . but Robert Downey Jr. is currently an A-lister now and probably the most lucrative star in town at the moment. The point is, he's got probably got more clout now than Norton.

i think the director also had something to do with him not being back. I dont think Whedon is like LL, who's happy to take a back seat to Norton.
