Norton Reprising the role of Banner = Up to the fans

GODDAMNIT :cmad:

what's next?

"Uh...we decided downey wasn't enough like stark, so we're gonna recast for Iron Man 3"

Obviously, this is extremely annoying news but do we even know for sure that it's necessarily Marvels doing?

Honestly no we don't. They could've tried to make the deal. But then there's this:

http://www.411mania.com/movies/news/145031/[Gossip]-Edward-Norton:-United-Nations-Ambassador?.htm

For his continuous work to urge people living an eco lifestyle, the actor has been picked to be the representative for sustainable development and conservation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

© HRC/WENN Edward Norton has landed an environmentally friendly new role - the actor's been appointed the United Nations' goodwill ambassador for biodiversity. The "Fight Club" star has long been involved with raising awareness of the benefits of creating a greener world and last year he ran the New York Marathon to raise $300,000 for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.

He has also recently launched a website, CrowdRise.com, urging young people to volunteer for eco causes. And his dedication has been acknowledged by the U.N. - officials have asked him to be an ambassador for all issues related to sustainable development and conservation.

Norton says, "I think that ambassadors in many ways can play a role in highlighting the models of success that the U.N. is promoting around the world."

I think she is...

Seeing him playing a meek and scared Banner against RDJ's cocky and arrogant Stark was something I was really looking forward too. If they can't use Norton, then they shouldn't show Banner at all. Just use CGI Hulk. IMO, of course.

I agree completely! So much that I don't think it should be your opinion but a FACT! :woot: Just have CGI Hulk if there is no Norton in the film.

Until Marvel confirms I'm not going to believe it 100% but I'll say this, I never believed that Norton was going to be in the Avengers. If I'm wrong so be it but I never believed it was going to happen anyway.

There's not any news he will be in. Just other speculation.

Uh this is somewhat news as it's a rumor from a non bulls**t website. They could be wrong and things could work out but to just write it off is more than a bit silly.

I would be shocked if he was allowed to come back after how controlling he was about TIH. Joss W doesn't seem like the type to let some cry-baby actor tell him what to do and control the whole feature. Would Marvel let him re-write their atleast 250-300million dollar movie?

Marvel:

Oh yes Mr. Norton you can re-write the screenplay to your liking.

RDJ:

Yes Ed you are the one in control eventhough I have two successful franchises under my belt and I'm the bigger star but you can run this s**t because you are so uber talented.

Not Likely. If he is back he's going to have to be tamed.

I think that's kind of what happened.

Listen, Ed Norton is a great actor, but he has a very controlling reputation. I mean, that's why I think it was risky to get him to do Hulk/Banner because if you go in with Norton you have to go all in and go along with all the choices he wants to make. That didn't quite work out with Incredible Hulk where he basically opted out of promoting the movie all together.

And I imagine it wouldn't have worked with Avengers. Norton is a very controlling guy that has to have a lot of influence in his projects.

LOL once again these multi-movie contract deals at the end of the day don't mean jack **** ;) .

Just think about that next time you guys start all these sequel threads proclaiming the FF actors were all signed of for three movies!

.. ****. That's a very good point.. :/

They must be getting paid since that contract has been broken, correct?

Who knows? I honestly don't care. That's up for Marvel and the management of everyone else to decide.

My only thing is, that I kind of had the feeling several years ago this was what ultimately would happen by going with Norton. I mean Norton is a great actor don't get me wrong. But in order for him to work on a project like this he demands an amount of creative control and influence I imagine Marvel didn't want to give him.

And honestly I think they are right for doing so.

I just wish they got someone else instead of Norton so it wouldn't have come to this at all.

His Diva attitude is the reason I also felt that this whole thing would fall through from the begining. After the Incredible Hulk basically did the same business as the first I didn't think that it was important that they bring him back because the regular joes who make movies a hit didn't give enough of a f**k about the flick. The love for the movie only exists in fanboy land. For the record I thought the movie was okay and better than Iron Man 2. I don't hate it at all but it doesn't inspire alot of feelings in me one way or the other, especially after my second viewing of it.

Yep, I should really stop using the word "if" because he is infact not coming back.
