Not an origin film and Bana & Purcell in talks?!?!?!?

LL knows alot of us want Bana back but let's be real too. Alot of you wanted a different Hulk film all together so if we don't get Bana back...let's hope for someone talented that can fill his shoes and then some.

so purcell is in it to be bruce banner...he is kinda big...bana was about the ideal size or the dr.

no, if bana is in talks as stated..then purcell will be abomination.

Well I hope Bana comes back but those quotes really do not say much. So I will keep my fingers crossed and await real news.

^ Well I know Purcell is not in talks for Banner. LOL

If Bana is willing to come back my 40% interest in this film will raise substantially.

I'd love to have Bana, Elliot, and Connelly back for a sequel. Would make the franchise seem more coherent.
Though I see your point. At no point did Batman Begins seem incoherent.

Considering Clooney's comments about portraying a 'gay Batman', Joel's campy Batman & Robin and Keaton's lack of interest in the role not only do I think a new cast was embraced but that I was also necessary. Anyways, the public is used to seeing the Batman cast switched around. This film, however, requires no such treatment. The continuity would only serve to aid it.

Purcell and Metcalfe Jump in Town Creek
Source: The Hollywood Reporter November 15, 2006

Dominic Purcell ("Prison Break") and Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die, "Desperate Housewives") are heading to Town Creek, a vampire horror movie that Joel Schumacher is directing for Gold Circle.

The Hollywood Reporter says the two will star as brothers on a mission of revenge who become trapped in a harrowing occult experiment that dates back to the Third Reich.

Gold Circle topper Paul Brooks is producing along with Tom Lassally and Robyn Meisinger. Norm Waitt and Scott Niemeyer are executive producing. Zak Kadison is co-producing and overseeing for Gold Circle.

Lionsgate is distributing, while Mandate is handling foreign sales. A March 1 start date is being eyed.

Bye Dom! :)

But Batman Begins was a complete restart. And it needed a restart badly.

It's far too soon to restart the Hulk franchise, and Hulk is not a franchise killer like Batman & Robin was.

From what is said, it appears that this movie is going to be a psuedo-sequel or a vague sequel to the original Hulk movie. Because of that, I'd like to see the same actors portray the characters they originally portrayed instead of new ones.

^ Yep. It seems like it's gonna be another Hulk movie that can be viewed as a stand alone film that should just touch on the origin perhaps during the credits and then some great pacing and all out action and I'm down with it.

If Bana returns, that'll be great. If not, meh. I just want a great HULK movie. I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Bana, Bacon and Hurt in Golden Compass?
Source: Ciboule November 20, 2006

'Ciboule' alerted us that an interview with Casino Royale star Eva Green in French magazine Studio (via Elbakin) says that Eric Bana, Kevin Bacon and John Hurt have also joined New Line's The Golden Compass.

If accurate, they would star opposite Nicole Kidman, Green, her Bond co-star Daniel Craig, Dakota Blue Richards and Sam Elliott in the Chris Weitz adaptation coming to theaters on December 7, 2007.

Based on the bestselling Philip Pullman novels, the "His Dark Materials" trilogy is comprised of "The Golden Compass," "The Subtle Knife" and "The Amber Spyglass". It revolves around a young girl who travels to the far north to save her best friend. Along the way she encounters shape-shifting creatures, witches, and a variety of otherworldly characters in parallel universes.

Not looking good for Banna either.

that doesn't mean much except that he has a movie coming out next year, hulk is slated for '08.

Bana didn't suck. The script and direction just didn't allow him to be what you expected. It was still a great film to me though...just different and deeper than a film like The Hulk needed to be.

Agreed with all the above.

I too found Bana, Connelly, and Elliot to be quite exception in their respective roles, and would very much like to see that trinity of actors return for the upcoming Incredible Hulk.

I certainly hope Bana (apologise for the typo above) makes it but I find it strange we have absolutely no news for casting whereas filiming would have to start early spring next year or is it normal and I am just being anxious for no reason?

^Well no AM, Iron Man virtually has its cast set and it is beginning shooting only 2 months before The Incredible Hulk, so yeah, i though we'd have more knews by now as well.

Though i'm only waiting to hear if Bana is coming back, if he doesnt, i probably wont bother with this movie.

I didn’t say I did not like the film, the film was way cool in parts and overall a good superhero flick.
I just did not like Bana as Banner that much.
I want an actor that reminds me more of the character from the comics and early eighties cartoon.
Bana did not do that for me, or seem that traumatized by the whole thing.

Anyway I look forward to the next film since it's about Bruce having to live as a drifter from town to town struggling w/ his double life, and of course because Hulk will get to throw down w/ everybody’s fav Hulk enemy (so long as they don alter Abomination’s look) .

The only bit that has me a little concerned is Avi talking about a love story.
For me I think a new Hulk film could easily work w/out the love story element as that was one of the weaker parts of the first movie.
We'll see, but since this film is not a sequel I definitely want a new Banner and a new more realistic sized Hulk.

I also want WAAAAAY more Hulk Smash
