Now that we've seen it in action what do guys think of the black suit?

I like the costume alot. When I first saw it, I was like, "Whoa..." And now that I see it in action, It looks amazing. I like the original Comic concept too, but seeing that on film would make Spidey look in tight black spandex and it wouldnt look right. Everyone in New York would be thinking that he was ****ing himself in a new costume. It'd make them think he was wearing black Leather. Lol. Wouldnt be a good thing for spidey.

I didn't like it at first, but it has grown on me.

Like a lot of other people, I would have loved to see the classic black suit.

I don't know how I feel about the webbing on Venom, though. Haven't seen enough to know.

at first i question , because it just looks like a black suit verision of the red one , but then watching the sceens where swings thru the building all you see is black and white logo, very close to comic .............. besides they these movies to be more realistic and close to comic so not every detail will be the same .......

Suit looks good in action. I'm just glad the symbiote finally looked like it was always meant to, with the white sider. I may accept the new suit, for the sake of not going insane. But I will never forget the chance they had to make suit look truly special onscreen;

I love that poster (need to buy it), but when I first saw it in April, I admit skeptical didn't even describe me. I downright loathed it. Now I think it is quite good seeing it in motion, albeit I prefer the original look but can seee why they avoided it....somewhat.

My only major gripe right now is that Sandman may have killed Ben Parker (something I hope is disproved in the movie). That and that Spidey has a parade day, but long as he just swings by and makes no speeches or **** like that it will be....bareable.

But as for the suit, pretty cool.

But the movie suit still looks cool, so I'm happy anyway .

I agree the Original black Spidey suit would have been killer!

A couple of my thoughts..
I bet in the DVD commentaries it will be said that the solid black suit with no texture would have or did look bad on screen. I am willing to bet that there are screentests of the all black suit, and it didn't work. Off the top of my head, I can think of these reasons why: A) It would be hard to show any detail of the suit. In low-light condidtions, Spidey would probably just look like a black blob, and from the trailer, it looks like black Spidey does most of his work at night. B) the suit is more grey than black for the exact same reasons stated above. At least grey throws a little light back at the camera, and that light will show details that would not be seen in a solid black, non-textured suit. C) Most of the audience going to the movie are not hard-core Spidey fans. The fact that they went with BASICALLY a grey version of the red and blue is to facilitate transition for the casual fan. Also, remember that the new trailer shows that CGI modifications were made to the basic suit. For example, in the suit ripping sequence, the webbing on the suit is noticably broader-spaced than the traditional suit. I am sure there are more differences that will be brought out in subsequent trailers and the movie.
As an aside, since we have already seen that there has been mods to the suit from the first trailer to the last, I am ALMOST willing to bet that all of the black Spidey pics/videos we have seen, even the newest trailer, are all PRE RENDERED. Meaning we could get a suit in the movie that is different still from the update we saw in the last trailer. They could be sitting on the post rendered suit as a surprise. I know not much of a chance, but there is the possiblity. One reason I say this is in a lot of the shots, it looks like there is a layer of CGI over Spidey when you know he is actually there. I speak specifically of the scene where Spidey files off part of Sandman's head with the subway. Look at Spidey's arm holding Sandman's head. It just doesn't look rendered the same way as Sandman. It looks oddly out of focus with the rest of the scene, even compared to Sandman.
Anyhow, I'm not trying to start a conspiracy here, just saying we may not have seen the final render of the black suit at all.

one of the best things to see in spidey3 is symbiote spidey fighting, and web-swinging, its freakin sweet, the costume rocks.

i'm fine with the change, it actually makes venom's suit stand out more instead of him simply copying spidey.

I'm a fan of the suit and this is a big reason why. As awesome as the suit is in the comics, I do think this is the better way to go on screen, especially to establish the difference between Spider-Man and Venom for the audience.
