O.K, so who's UNHAPPY with the casting?

Great cast, Liv is the weakest link here, but we'll see.
Oh, and Tobey is definately not irreplaceable in my book.

I do believe that this thread has steered one sided in it's opinion. Granted that the Betty Ross casting was my only real concern, and no one else has said anything else about the rest of the cast besides Tyler, i think it's safe to assume that she's the most debateable cast member thus far..?

And where are you guys getting this 'Judd is too old' crap from?

Connelly and her look like about the same age to me, and most of you praise her boring, depressing ass to high heaven.

See post below

My biggest concern for this cast though, is William Hurt. And yes, I have seen A History of Violence, and I'm still not convinced he's right for the role. I don't see him being better than Sam Elliott in the same role.

How is this too old?

If anything, Connelly looks the oldest.....Judd looks like a taller version at Natalie Portman to me.

couldnt find any better pics of connelly?

miss jude looks the oldest and is the oldest. She would make a good Betty they went with Liv cause she's hot and young.

Love

^I just wanted all of them to have the relatively the same head position.

I think going for the 'young' and hot route is a big mistake. Granted we haven't seen Maggie Gyllenhaals performance as Rachel Dawes in TDK, she's a far superior actress over Katie Holmes, but doesn't look as cute as her. It's all about performance to me. Quality over looks.

But i'll say it again, i hope Tyler proves me wrong.

Thank god! She's a great actress but i find her very depressing. It's like you know ****'s not gonna go well when she's on screen.:o

lol.. dont watch her next film then, all kinds of bads**t happens in that one

All I know is, compared to casting Jessica Alba as Sue Storm, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross is nothing.

I wasn't praising her ass to high heaven. Somewhere closer to middle heaven. lol No, I just think she was a pretty good Betty. The rest of the cast? I really don't know. Like just about everything else with this movie, it feels like we're walking on eggshells. From the timing of the release to, heck, Ed Norton now being responsible for the script - having supplanted the original guy hired to write it - it feels like we can't be sure about anything. I mean, is it a good thing that the lead actor has his attention divided? It shows he is fully invested, yes, but I worry about him overexpending himself... trying to do too much. All of our hopes shouldn't be pinned on one guy, as it seems they are. Maybe my uncertainty is due to the fact I'm not familiar with Tim Roth, William Hurt or the other guy... and I've only recently seen Transporter 2 and Unleashed, to get an idea about LL (who surprises me as a director, considering how young he is). It's really going to be something of a miracle when all is said and done, and we can exhale, saying we've watched The Incredible Hulk. Someone should start a topic, "What will you be saying this time next year about TIH?"

About Ashley... I dunno man. Maybe I've seen too many bad photos of her, but she exudes old-ness to me. Now, the first pic you posted of her? Oh my gosh... not good for my emotional health. Wow, knockout, to drool over, etc... I would put her somewhere on the level of a Jun Ji Hyun. Ashley certainly is attractive... no doubts in that department... but I would see her as Aunt Mae next to Norton from the get-go. Sorry.

Yes i'm satisfied with the casting in general, but just like Batman Begins they assmeble a great cast, then when i comes to the female lead they decide to lower the bar. If anything this shoud be an insult to woman everywhere because it conveys that the female roles in these superhero movies aren't as important as the male one. Case in point, it's far from it. There are alot of high caliber actresses out there who fit the Betty bill. This casting looks like they took the BB, or the Superman Reurns route.

And to say Ashley Judd is too old is ridiculous. Firstly she's a year older than Norton. Secondly the Betty Ross character is far from the damsel in distress types we typically see in other hero movies. If anything, Banner/Hulk is the one who's in distress and Betty is his saviour, rock and voice of reason. We need a mature, strong and independent female body to carry the role of Betty. One that's not afraid to speak up for Bruce, and go against the grain when need be because of her pity/understanding for the creature. Ashley Judd has never come off as being bimbo-ish in any of her movies (that i've seen), and because of her composure and on-screen presense i can easily see her as a well respected Doctor. Even if she does look a tad older than baby face Norton, that's a good thing. Betty Ross is more of a motherly figure to the Hulk-she's one of the ONLy ppl Hulk actually listens too. Judd fits the bill in all aspects of the Betty charcter.

Like i said, nothing personnel against Tyler, and i really hope i'm wrong but for right now i'm getting flashbacks of Katie Holmes in BB and Bosworth in SR.

Haven't seen Ghost Rider but that's because i've NEVER heard ANYTHING postive about it yet!:csad:

P.S. How can you say Judd is not apple pie-ish?

Shes just too damn sexy! Yummy!:oldrazz: The more i look at her pic, the more I see your point. Good one Hitman. But in all fairness let me show you a quick manip of both Judd and Tyler. brb.

Your joking right?

Yeah, sort of. I don't seriously think she would be Aunt Mae... I was exaggerating... but I don't think she make a very great peer of Ed Norton, either. And that's a compliment to Ashley more than anything. I just see her being leaps & bounds more mature, I guess, than Norton. Her character in Double Jeopardy stands out to me... a movie in which she seemed so darned sharp (smart/mature, as well as hot) that it would make Norton look like a schoolboy, by comparison.

Anyway, I'll let it go. My goal wasn't to trample on her as a possibility for Betty. I really have no idea what kind of Betty she would make. She's definitely better-looking than Liv (but in Liv's defense, that doesn't mean anything).

Lol, I have no idea what film some of you guys were watching, but Jennifer Connelly, besides Sam Elliott, probably had the best perfomance easily. Just with her eyes she was conveying a range of emotions that we should've got from Eric Bana. I actually could see Ashley Judd working in the role, but my only qualms with Tyler was her appearing too young. Katie Holmes wasnt terrible in BB either IMO, she also just appeared too young for the role. I think some of us "fanboys" just hate the whole idea of a love interest in a superhero movie period. I found myself cringing at the overall corny-ness of the relationships in hero movies plenty of times, but I recognize the need for it in order to attract the female audience. Some of you guys just need to admit, you hate the mushy stuff don't ya?
