i can't confirm, but apparently after the credits...

...they show the girl who was in the picture with Mai pointing the gun at her. she is nursing a broken Piccolo back to health or something.

edit: Spidey beat me to it.

wow that is actually kind of interesting
really? sounds pretty dull to me. i would've liked to have seen something like a shot from behind a big, bald guy operating a spaceship and reporting to his superior. the cliffhanger they went with makes it seem like it's easy to cheat death....just like in the anime. so i guess in that sense, the movie is pretty faithful.

i agree with dorky that its dull.
i will also add pathetic.

this is dragonball. this is a suprise? piccolo? they should have teased with a space ship. vegeta.
this is like FF2 again. ohhhhhhhhh nooooooooo silver surfer survived? he blinked? OMG jesus god.

As Dorky said that cliffhanger sounds a bit reminiscent to the reoccurring theme tossed around in Dragonball-Dragonball Z of cheating death just barley but returning back to health relatively quickly. It seems as if they are trying to replicate that same theme in a very peculiar way by having this unknown female character giving Piccolo soup healing him back to health.

I heard they wanted to make Vegeta a chick and have a romantic subplot with her and Goku in the next movie...

It's not beyond FOX... every movie should have a romantic subplot...

You actually believed that?
I was exaggerating Fox's tendency to screw around with adaptations...

It's only not a surprise for those familiar with the Dragonball franchise. Newcomers would've assumed that after Piccolo's 'death scene', he's dead. Putting Vegeta as the end credit cliffhanger would confuse newcomers.

Furthermore, showing that Piccolo survived serves an important function. It lays the foundation for him to return in subsequent movies. Without it, it would feel out of the blue in the sequel. Or perhaps, you'd rather Piccolo not appear in subsequent movies? Plus, you act as if the anime/manga didn't do this when they did (showing Piccolo Jr. at the end of the Piccolo Sr. saga).

It doesn't makes sense thou.

Piccolo burns the entire village.

and it should stay that way. if this is INDEED an "Evolution" then they should evolve their storytelling and not keep giving away that characters are going to be able to cheat death easily. you already have Goku near death being revived by Roshi, then you have Goku reviving Roshi through Shenlong....and with the extra scene at the end you have a 3rd character being revived from being destroyed. 3 characters being revived in 1 movie that's not even 2 hours long....that's ridiculous. leaving that scene out or going with a different, non-Piccolo scene would've made it feel more like Piccolo's fate were cemented. instead, we don't get any suspense for the next movie since we already know he'll be alive and kicking.

well, if it's true that Piccolo reveals that Goku is a Saiyan in this movie then i think the audience would be smart enough to put 2 and 2 together. even if they don't realize that it would be another Saiyan in the extra scene, they would still figure out that it has something to do with his newly realized alien ancestry.

it didn't feel out of the blue when the Mummy came back in the Mummy returns. that was a great way to end the first film with the assumption that the Mummy is done for good, but bring him back in the 2nd film without compromizing the illusion that the villain would be dead for good.

Plus, you act as if the anime/manga didn't do this when they did (showing Piccolo Jr. at the end of the Piccolo Sr. saga).
yeah...but as much as people like to make it seem like we want an uber faithful film, we really just want a GOOD film. if that means changing things to make it fresh and a little less predictable then so be it, as long as it's in good taste. just because this particular scene might've been in the manga/anime doesn't mean it should be in the movie.....especially when you consider that they've discarded elements of the DB verse that are infinitely more important.

forgive me but i'm not followin ya here, Orb....what's that got to do with the ending?

You said that in the scene we see the village girl nursing Piccolo, but Piccolo kills everybody.

oh!!! okay...yeah, i dunno exactly wasup with that, but that's what everyone is reporting.

I think that was a joke because the guy who saw the scene laughed at it when someone posted it.

there is more than one review that sites this scene. again, i can't confirm it but more than a couple of reviews have mentioned that scene and given the way this film has been handled i wouldn't put it past them to make that the last scene of the movie. if it happens to be different then hopefully it will be a more meaningful scene.

Hey Ryo Jin, since you will be seeing the movie tomorrow, can you stay for the credits? I hope you read this.

piccolo explains him that he is a saiyan.

and if DBZ really has so much fans people would not be confused.

That's not what happens to Piccolo, this stupid movie and these ignorant filmmakers and Hollywood studio executives.

Piccolo was only really a villain during Dragon Ball, and the Piccolo for the rest of the story is not King Piccolo.

fox didn't listen to what i had to say about this ...so i won't pay money to see their short/rushed crappy movie

i mean what is there else to see? kamehameha"-saw that
oozaru?-saw it shenron?-saw that
a bootleg in japanese is all i need for a closure

PG,short running time............i knew what would happen.

then why didn't you tell us?we'd have never expected this to happen..

^^

So...Some random woman tries to treat Piccolo back to health despite the fact that HE'S A F***ING ALIEN AND DOESN'T EAT FOOD? Right. FOX knows a LOT about Dragonball. Ya know, I'm really looking forward to this movie but these stupid things are REALLY starting to piss me off.
