Whats the big deal? If they do more sequels then GREAT. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes and we'll get to see Vegeta and SS Goku blowing mountains up and stuff.

How often are sequels to films as bad as DBE actually good films? If you have a bad foundation for a series then the series usually isn't very good. Besides that, a sequel isn't supposed to be a second attempt. It's supposed to be giving fans more of what they want. That's why a movie has to make a lot of money in order to even get a sequel.

Fantastic sequels to terrible films simply don't happen. The closest I can think of is Harry Potter where the first two are pretty mediocre, but the series gets significantly better with Part 3 when WB replaced Chris Columbus with Alfonzo Cuaron (which is sort of like the Minnesota Vikings replacing Tavaris Jackson with Peyton Manning). Even then, the first two Potter films were far, far superior to Dragonball Evolution.

I don't think this series is beyond saving. I just think Fox needs to back off and let the filmmakers due their job. They'll have more time to work on the film, so at least it wont be rushed.

The filmmakers are partly to blame too though. James Wong made a lot of stupid decisions in his approach, like trying to make the movie more realistic. And he changed Ramsey's script too I believe. I even heard Ramsey's original script was better and full of less holes.

This series needs a new crew if it wants to get any better. You can't expect a masterpiece to be come from mediocre creators.

I never expected a masterpiece from anything Dragon Ball-related.

The Original Bamfer is right. You can’t really expect a 100% faithfully translated live-action Dragonball movie to make a lot of money and appeal to the general audiences. It’ll definitely sell to the fans and the younger audiences, but that’s pretty much it. There are too much obstacles in the original source materials that doesn’t really work in making the movie appealing as a live-action movie. Don’t get me wrong, like I said before, not all animes / mangas are doom forever in ever becoming successful live-action movies. Look at animes / mangas like Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell, these will definitely make outstanding blockbusters and will definitely appeal to the general audiences and fans alike if done correctly.

I was never referring to the level of faithfulness. I was referring to quality. This film was just not well made, and unless they get a more competent crew that will carry over to the next film. Doesn't matter if they throw in Vegeta or whatever to make the fans happy if the sequel has things like plot holes and underdeveloped characters.

x-3 ,fantastic four 2,..... are proof that insted making a better movie they do everything they could wrong.
sequels are even shorter and even more dumber. but the sequel to this movie can not be shorter .

Reminds me of this one tv spot where they dubbed over Marge on the Simpsons with someone who doesn't sound anything like her. I think Fox just likes randomly dubbing people.

OMG, I hope the American release has the dub! I WILL SEE THIS 10 TIMES IF IT DOES.

:p
