Why in Zeus' name would Kevin Pritchard, unless he was under the effects of alcohol or narcotics ...or both, do that? A 25-year old (granted, a headcase with no apparent inclination to contribute anything resembling defense) who put up 24/10 last year in exchange for a 27-year old (albeit with a ton of heart) with shaky knees and coming off shoulder surgery who put up 16/10. LA would have to sweeten that up a bit.

I don't even think Kupchak or Buss would be in favor of it if it was offered. Randolph and Mamba on the same team. They'd be swinging by the 3rd preseason game. Hmm. Maybe this ain't a bad idea after all.

All this trade talk the league has had with no actual results makes Bill Russell's beard itch.

Its not really related to the deal going down with the Suns and T'Wolves, its just the general lack of any moves or decisions made from Paxson this offseason so far.

First Zach is on the trade block and the blazers need a veteran SF! They tried to get Rashard Lewis but that didnt work out. Next is Gerald Wallace in a sign and trade but I think Lamar Odom would be far better in that Portland system with Oden, Aldridge, Roy, and Jarrat Jack. Yes zach average 20+ pts and 10 rpg last year but he is least wanted 20/10 guy in the league! His value is pretty low considering the numbers he puts up! Lakers would get a legit 20/10 guy in Zach! And he's only 25 will plenty room of improvment. Now you might say Zach and Kobe cant get along but if Kobe can get along with shaq than it should be no problem with Zach. Phil Jackson is used to having nutcases in his team and made it work. I.E. Rodman. I think Phil can get the best out of Zach! And the lakers would still have Bynum and Brown to move.

NEW YORK – Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Garnett is close to going to the Phoenix Suns in a monumental three-way trade that would send Phoenix forward Amare Stoudemire to the Atlanta Hawks, league sources said Wednesday.

Atlanta would move the Nos. 3 and 11 picks in Thursday's draft, as well as Zaza Pachulia and Anthony Johnson, to Minnesota.

Minnesota owner Glen Taylor has delivered a mandate to his basketball executives to get a deal done, one league executive said.

Yahoo! Sports has learned that the trade would also save the Hawks from an emerging showdown between the front office and coaching staff over whom to draft with the third pick. The front office and coaching staff had settled on Florida power forward Al Horford, but a faction of the Atlanta Spirit ownership group, with business interests in China, is pushing them to take Yi Jianlian.

The deal hinges on Atlanta general manager Billy Knight saying yes, as well as Hawks ownership, which is mired in lawsuits, being willing to increase payroll. It is believed that star Hawks guard Joe Johnson talked to his former Suns teammate on Wednesday and that the 24-year-old Stoudemire, a first-team All-NBA choice, told him that he'd welcome the trade.

I've read reports that Amare doenst get along with his teammates, so the suns decided to move him but move him to the east.

WOW! Pheonix is really gambling it all. If they do this trade. The almost have to win it all next year, because Nash, & Garnett won't be getting any younger.

If this goes down. Next year will be interesting in the West.

Its an unnecessary risk, even f Garnett is better (which I don't really believe), he is not THAT much better to want to trade for. Both their stats from last year are almost identical the only difference is that Garnett is on his way down and Amare is in his prime.

I think Pheonix is panicing un-realistically. They didn't win this year, because some old man decided the rules were more important. They stick with the team they have. I am sure they will win it next year.
