There's a moratorium period. They can negotiate contracts, but they can't sign them until the 11th, I think.
yeah.. but i know they can agree in principle..

we "signed" Malone and Payton

I wouldn't smile Billups is out there.

There's very little chance he leaves Detroit.

You're right. The 11th is the earliest players can sign.

... and two of my childhood idols debased themselves. :csad:

i hope the rockets can somehow get rashard lewis. :woot:

He wants to return. Dumars wants him to return. They can offer him good money.
Why would he leave and where would he go?

Because I said so!:cmad:

That, or I am just so bored by the offseason. That I am talking out of my a** just to find a reason to keep posting here. Do something Paxson please!

Stay away from my man! :cmad:

Stein's free-agency notes
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&id=2922326

  • Milwaukee didn't rush to the phones to get Chauncey Billups on the line this morning, which indicates that they're more interested in re-signing Mo Williams than they are at bringing in Billups. He'll probably stay in Detroit.
  • Phoenix and San Antonio are offering Grant Hill the veterans' minimum, whereas Detroit, Toronto, and Orlando are offering much more. One source told Stein, though, the it's almost a sure thing that Hill will be in Phoenix next season.
  • Seattle is playing close to the vest on Rashard Lewis. They seem to want to keep him, but speculation is that it's all a front to drive up Lewis' trade value.
  • Dallas' most coveted free agent is Rashard Lewis, not Matt Barnes.

Well thats just great! Nothing big is going to happen? Come on somebody steal a player, or something!

I wish Miami could have parlayed Kapono in a sign and trade, but I can't blame him for jumping on that. Toronto overpaid big time. 6M/yr for a guy who absolutely needs someone to get him open looks and is a poor defender? I'd have been pissed if the Heat resigned him at that price tag. That money is needed elsewhere.

Haha, wow. And I thought $5 M a year for Tony Battie was bad.

Somebody, anybody, please convince me the trade was worth it. As far as I am concerned, and most Sonics fans would agree, Ray Allen WAS the Seattle Supersonics. His leadership on and off the court will be sorely missed.

Ray Allen was a leader? Ray Allen the basketball player? Ray Allen? Am I on candid camera?

effin Lakers overpaying again!!!!!!!!!!:cmad:

we have genius's runnin our team :whatever:

Again, Paxman better be one of them.
In regards to Darko - yuck. No he better not. The last thing the Bulls need is ANOTHER defensive big man. Get me an effing scorer and do it pronto. All the Bulls have is the mid-level exception right now (about $5.5 mil) and another $1.2 mil that can't be combined or split. More room can come if they move or dump someone, but they seem intent on keeping Nocioni and not lopping another massive salary on top of Ben's, so Lewis looks unlikely. This is why picking Noah was dumb. They needed an inside scorer going into the draft and still need one now. JamesOn Curry makes Duhon even more expendable, so maybe packaging him and Nocioni along in a sign and trade for that scorer is a possibility. As is, Zach Randolph was the best option to fill this void and he's a Knick now...

Zach IS a Knick. :O .......... I get the feeling he's going to blow up in our face. :(
