Just got back from staples center...

First off... KOBE.. wtf!.. this is the Kobe i was afriad of OMG:cmad:

we had to rely on Sasha in the 4th

secondly... wheres LS and Dock with their conspiracy theory now???

not saying they Lakers lost cause of it... cause the Lakers shot like ****...

but there was one time in the second half we couldnt BREATHE on Boston..and we went to the line what like 6 times all game:huh:

thirdly... that was OUR chance... i only picked the Lakers in 5 cause we HAD to win at LA.. i dont have faith in this group to close out in Boston...

if we dont win the next game.. its pretty much done..

fourthly.. i really thought the C's were gonna be the ones that looked like deers in the headlights..... the Lakers looked like little kids... shoulda put the Sparks out there....

finally.. i knew the game was over when the staples crowd actually cheered when pierce went down :nono: bad karma :csad:

But I think the celtics have the best personal to slow down Kobe! I think the tag team of Posey and Peirce will do wonders for the celtics. They SHOULD put Pierce on Kobe. He's our best perimeter defender. He's a very underrated defender! He wasn't supposed to stand a chance of guarding LeBron. There was supposed to be nobody to stand in the way of LeBron putting up 40 a night, and it was definitely not gonna be Pierce. The fact is, Pierce has stepped up to the challenge of locking down anyone he's guarded this season. LeBron scored 27 per game against Boston on 36% shooting and with 5 turnovers a game. Prince scored 10 points a game, on 32% shooting. Paul Pierce has been one of the best defenders in the league this season. Its time to stop just going by reputation and start looking at what players have done defensively. And if you look at the Celtics vs Lakers games, Kobe shot 9-21 (43%) the first time, and 6-24 (25%) the second time. And locking up Kobe didn't seem to take any energy out of him either. In addition to locking Kobe up, he scored 35 through 3 quarters(he didn't play much the 4th since the game was such a blowout). Pierce guarded him almost all the time in each game. I'll trust past events and say that Pierce can do a good job on Kobe.
Im such a genius!!!

I lol'd when I saw Pierce on the floor, I immediately knew he would be back in like 5 minutes. He always does.

So you're saying he pulled a Vince Carter?

I thought he was good and hobbled. *shrugs*
As long as he continues to bring it.

Nah sprain knees kill and Pierce's goofy build didn't help. Painkiller do wonders

Nothing a little Cortisone couldn't fix.

He'll be on crutches in 3 weeks, but whatever, it's the Finals.

todays game was Kobe's worst 2008 playoff game :( lets hope he does much better in the game 2. btw can they please bring in Ariza or Newble for Walton :csad::cmad:

WHO'S #2??? I Own you all!!!

Lakers lost one in boston, means nothing if they win game 2. Lakers will make adjustments and get back with that fire like in game 4 in san antonio. Lakers in 5.

When has he ever gone out back for an injury? Other than the time Ron arrtest knocked him down and cracked his tooth.

As a Lakers fan, I'm quite disappointed with their performance last week, but I'm also mindful that this is a 7-game series, not the NCAA championship game, and Lakers' goal has always been to try to take 1 in the first two games at the Boston Garden. Game 2 is pivotal, and Lakers have to make adjustments and play ALOT better if they want to win it. I just don't understand why Lakers played well in the first half, but got lapses in the second half and Kobe wasn't playing his best down the stretch. Usually Lakers play better in the second half than first...

Btw, Paul Pierce should've gotten an Oscar for his performance when he got a knee "injury". :whatever:

Irrelevant, and childish. You're better than that.

As someone who has a gotten a knee injury before (torn ACL) I can tell you, those first few moments are terrible. The pain is one thing, but the thought of you being ****ed up is another.

Yeah, cause that was fake:rolleyes:

The lakers played better in the first half cause the Celts played crap defense in the first half.

Lakers went to the line 13 times Boston went 19 times, that's called better defense.

Wow, it's funny how Laker fans ridicule and make fun of anyone who accuses the officials of making special calls. Yet when they lose a game that's the very first thing they mention as the reason for them losing, and of course, let them accuse Paul Pierce of faking an injury. I guess by that immature logic he faked getting stabbed right?

But I predict Kobe will explode for Game 2, Gasol will have a good game, and Odom will play better too. What a lot of Laker fans fail to understand is that Boston played excellent team/help defense on Kobe. Throwing different defenders at him when he touched the ball messed up his rhythm and he couldn't get it going.

I don't think the same Boston defensive approach will work on the next game, so they're going to have to think of a new defensive scheme to slow Kobe down and force other players to beat him. When you can limit Kobe's passing and his shooting you pretty much have the Lakers beat.

What Boston needs to do is watch the turnovers, take better shots, and Ray Allen needs to use several picks/screens to get himself open so he can make critical shots. Don't get me wrong he played great last night and without his effort they most likely would've lost last night, but at the end of the day, he needs to continue to find ways to get himself wide open shots so he can help his team out.

Cassell? Great player and all, but he made some boneheaded mistakes that could've cost them dearly if Allen, Pierce, Rondo, and Garnett didn't have good games.

Pierce came back in less than 3 minutes.

Lakers lost because Celtics outrebounded them, and they also lost the focus they had in the first half. Celtics play good defense, but so did Spurs and Lakers can win against a good defense; they just have to match the intensity.

Pierce came back in less than 3 minutes.

Your precious Kobe has done the same thing before, only in his case, I always believe he's faking because he comes out and plays like nothing was ever wrong with him. But of course you and every other basketball "fan" will say he's better than Jordan and that's why he plays through injuries.

If you took off your Laker rose colored glasses you'd see that Pierce was favoring his knee and wasn't getting the lift on his jumpshots. Hell, you even saw that he had to change his jumpshot so he wouldn't mess it up even more.

Face it, you guys lost last night and while Game 2 will be epic, you lost to a team that played better defense and there was no "faking injuries" last night. As the videos clearly show that Pierce did suffer a pretty nasty injury.

I'd think it was Purple and gold colored glasses

Stop making me look bad. :cmad::csad::o:bh:

In any event though last night was a great and fun game. I was really into it and was cheering on Boston while watching it in my bedroom. It's games like this that make me appreciate basketball and it's the reason why I love the sport so much.

I just didn't see Pierce really look like he was injured, but maybe he was. *shrug* He certainly didn't play like he was. But I have to agree that Celtics played better than Lakers last night, and while Boston Garden is a tough place to play in for the visitors, so was Jazz's Energy Solutions arena and Lakers have to find a way if they want to win. And as I said, Game 2 is crucial. We'll see which Lakers team show up to play.

You are the worst type of sports fan....

I can accept that Boston played just a bit better last night. The Lakers need to step it up and hit some of those open shots next game.

You, however, are all about the side-issues....'Bandwagon fans...F you Laker fans, I hate Los Angeles, F Kobe'. Incredibly pathetic. I hope you aren't this bitter and angry once you leave the computer. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if you were......

Man, Pierce deserves a Oscar for his acting last nite.

Amazing stuff.
