at first glance, I thought she defected to the lakers lol

I don't want to speak too soon, but it would be cool to see an LA/BOS series. I was just born when that classic feud started in the 80's, my dad taped the entire series' and I'd watch it as a kid. it would be nice to actually witness it as an adult.

Of course, it probably won't match the legendary greatness of showtime lakers, but still exciting nonetheless.

A Celtics/Lakers final will probably be Lakers in 5. I don't think the Celtics can matchup well with them and frankly, don't see anyone stopping them. As much as I want Paul, Ray and KG to win one before they retire, I don't see it happening this year. And lets not get ahead of ourselves too, the Spurs/Lakers series is pretty much over at this point, but the Pistons/Celtics series is going 7 (unless my prediction of the Celtics winning 2 in Detroit comes true) and the Pistons can easily steal this series.

I also see the Celts/Pistons series going 7. Pistons almost stole Game 5 despite down as much as 17 at one time, and I don't think they will lose at home. Game 7 is anybody's guess, like Hornets/Spurs which the visiting team actually won. As for Lakers/Spurs, I think Lakers can wrap it up in tonight's game.

Report: Doug Collins to be Bulls head coach

Doug Collins will be named the Bulls new head coach "sooner rather than later", according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Collins had been maintaining a strict "no interest" stance, but apparently his friendship with GM John Paxson and team chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, along with the Bulls winning the draft lottery, has changed his mind. Collins coached the Bulls from 1986-1989 and has a career coaching record of 332-287. May. 29 - 10:43 am et

Doug was the coach of Bulls before Phil Jackson, and he had MJ in his team but could never take Bulls far in the playoff (they keep losing to Isiah Thomas' Pistons). MJ later tapped Doug to coach the Wizards when he was running the front office there, but it didn't panned out either. Doug is an okay coach but he's not great or anything.

Hey, it was a bold prediction, but if the Celtics play with the same intensity, they can end this series tomorrow night. Unlikely, but still possible after Game 3.

The key to the game is going to be Rondo. Ray Allen has found his stroke, and the Pistons have not been able to stop Paul Pierce or Kevin Garnett at this point. The Pistons are going to try to disrupt Perk's flow early as well. They are not going to allow Perkins of all people to beat them. Look for some tight defense on Perk early on, I mean double teaming him in the post. Watch for Billups to rotate off Rondo to provide some help on the block leaving Rondo open from some jumpshots. He needs to make these if the Celtics want any chance of winning this game.

im not questioning you DP... i hope youre right :woot:

well dont really care about the Celtics prediction.. but you are half right so kudos

:lmao:

Collins wasn't a bad coach or anything, but, for some reason, I've been laughing since I read this on ESPN a couple of minutes ago.

I like him in the booth.:csad:

Bad idea. It will create more controversies in NBA and I think it will make refs' job more difficult. And if I don't see fines levied at Ginobili I'll be very surprised.

It wouldn't. Because it won't affect any on court action. The guy flops, the refs call a foul they probably shouldn't it really stays the same on the court. The only difference is you'll have a council of 12 now reviewing the flop after the fact and coming to the conclusion on whether or not he put on a Sally Field perfromance and giving him a fine. I can't see it being more than $5,000.

NBA better get a group of professions who can decipher if a flop is a flop or an offensive foul, then.

They could do worse than Doug Collins. They could probably do better, though, too.

I applaud them for trying to get rid of flopping but if they got rid of celebrity calls, the league would be so much better.

If the refs would just call the fouls with out all the flopping the league would be so much better. What they should do is fine the refs for not making a call when the foul is right in front of them.

I was reading some of these NBA floppers articles... and this guy summed it up pretty well... especially the portion in bold.

The Internets are alive: Floppin' fines
By J.E. Skeets

The NBA announced yesterday that fines will be imposed on players starting next season for clear cases of "flopping." (So much for that Manu-Varejao commercial.) Here's what they're saying out in the ether about the as-yet-undetermined system of floppin' fines.

Supersonicsoul: "Flopping is not basketball. Nobody flops in pick-up basketball, because it is the antithesis of competition. Competing means pushing back, not falling down. Competing means focusing your efforts on defeating your man, not playing to an official. And yet the NBA has allowed this spectacle to rob the game of its excitement. [...] It's a disgusting practice, and it has had the same affect on the game as the European introduction of smallpox to Native Americans. Sure, flopping existing before the Euros came over, but it reached new heights under the teachings of Professor Vlade Divac and his bizarrely bearded disciples. Kudos to the NBA for making an effort to put an end to this. If they do nothing else right this off-season, I'll applaud them for this."

Now that I think of it... flopping would have made such a great topic for my sports research paper last semester... oh well...
