General manager Doug Melvin indicated Wednesday that the Brewers are down to Willie Randolph, Bob Brenley and Ken Macha in their managerial search.

Macha and Randolph have already interviewed for the job, while Brenley is scheduled to do so Thursday. "I don’t know if I’m going to interview a fourth or fifth," Melvin said. "I think they are three strong candidates. I know that they all have been let go by other teams but they have pretty good track records."

I think it's between Willie and Brenly. The players didn't like Macha in Oakland. Jon Heyman was on WFAN and he said he doesn't think Willie will get the job, only that he's the mandatory minority candidate the Brewers interview.

the Brewers need a Charlie Manuel/Joe Maddon type manager to deal with what's still a really young team. I dont see either of those 3 candidates being particilarly good choices.

Please no. The Sox need to ditch that cap and the roach Red shirts while they are at it.

I hate when they go away from the "classic" look. Which reminds me who had the "B" first, the Dodgers or the Red Sox?

Prob. wear it with the red jersey. God awful.

They should hire Macha if they wanna put the entire team to sleep during pre-game speeches.

Some are good and some are bad. It really is hit or miss.

TV ratings fall for Game 1 of World Series
12 minutes ago

NEW YORK (AP) — Television ratings for Game 1 of the World Series were down from last year.

The Philadelphia Phillies' 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Fox on Wednesday night earned a 9.2 rating and 15 share, the network said Thursday.

That's down 12 percent from the 10.5 for the 2007 Game 1 between the Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies, but up 15 percent from the 8.0 for Cardinals-Tigers two years ago.

The rating is the percentage watching a program among homes with televisions, and the share is the percentage tuned into the broadcast among those households with TVs on at the time.

if you think thats bad, wait until tonight when there's a bunch of decent programming on 4 other channels at 8 and 9 PM.

I could honestly care less about ratings I know some do though.

go phillies! howard>langoria (even in howards current slump)

talking of howard why didnt manuel make him DH and put dobbs on 1st ive always said tht howard should be phils oficial DH in interleague play.

edit: and tho i am a pjillies fan i agree with maddon. thta was a balk!

If the Rays win by a run, I'm calling for that goddamn umpire's head. I've never been more infuriated about a call in my life.
