Another incredible game! Blanton pitched very well, and even helped himself with hitting a HR. Crowd was insane again. Were sitting pretty right now at 3-1 with Hamels going tomorrow, but I still don't think it's over. I don't see the Rays going quietly.

Incredible game? Surely you can't be serious. It was over by the 5th inning.

I have enough intestinal fortitude to accept it....

This big enough for you?

Big enough:bh:

I've noticed:cwink:

Speaking of Spidey...did anyone see them taking jabs at Steve Philips about trading Scott Kazmir(he denies he did)? Kruk seemed to get a kick out of it.

I thought that Phillips wasn't the GM when Kazmir was traded?

Yes I can be.....I'm a fan of The Phillies so obviously I'm gonna love what I saw.

You're supposed to say "I am. And don't call me Shirley". Seriously, that game wasn't incredible. A 3-2 game that goes into extras is incredible. The ASG was incredible. Heck, Game 3 was incredible. Last night was far from incredible; it was a joke. The Rays pitching was atrocious, their hitting was awful, and it was over by the 5th inning. This applies to EVERY team.

Phillips wasn't the GM when the Mets traded Kazmir. He did want to trade Jose Reyes though but the owner wouldn't let him.

I wanna know who these guys are that are impersonating Longoria and Pena. Way to disappear when the light shines brightest guys.

I think Rays' youth and inexperience are finally catching up to them, which is unfortunate because if they win WS, it would've been a nice rags-to-riches kind of baseball story.

They're the Bad News Bears, as in, they lost in the end.

holy lopsided score, batman!

just one more W and the phitins are world champs.

Um....getting to the World Series is rags-to-riches enough.

It really isn't, you gotta win it all for it to mean anything.

No. You don't.

We're talking about the Tampa Bay Rays. A team that had never had a winning record. And in one year, they go from the worst team in baseball to AL Champs.

Of course it's disappointing when you get this far and don't win it all, but who cares? They got to the World Series.

The Rays. The Rays got to the freakin' World Series.

But they didn't win.

I'm kinda with Darth here in a heterosexual way. Coming in second is like sleeping with your cousin, I mean sure it's sex but it's with your cousin.

The Marlins won the World Series, twice. The Rays didn't accomplish ****.

...So winning the AL pennant after being the worst team in sports for the past 10 years isn't an accomplishment? At all?

No, you play to win the big one, winning a Pennant means jack ****. Just ask the Chicago Cubs.

But you can't compare the Cubs situation to the Rays. The futility of the franchises are on completely different wavelengths.

The Cubs have been around since Napoleon, but haven't sniffed a title in a century.

The Rays have only been around for 11 years, and they've been the worst team in baseball over that decade span. For them to suddenly make a jump from worst record in baseball to league champions in one year is a major accomplishment for that team. I don't understand how you can even argue against that.
