Comics Official ALL-NEW X-MEN Discussion Thread

I just got caught up with the first six issues of All New X-Men today(and of course the seventh issue is about to come out grrrr double shipping is annoying!) and I have to say its fantastically surprisingly amazingly good! I feel like I stretching too far trying to catch up with Marvel NOW titles but I was dying to read this and I don't regret it!

I'm not sure about Beast's new look just yet but I love him being the one to time travel. I love his interaction with Jean and his younger self. Loving the Kitty stuff too, the stuff between her and Jean was just superb. Both Cyclops storylines are fantastic. I'm so happy to be back into comics!

OK I just realised something after seeing the latest preview pages I have to ask. Angel now was stabbed with a life seed so if he essentially became new wouldn't he lose his metal wings and revert to feathers? I'm in no way opposed to metal wings nor feathered but if he became a new being wouldn't the wings change???

It could be a Celestial thing. Since the seeds belong to them it could be an effect of using them. I dunno. Just spit-balling here. I'm more interested where they plan to go with this clean slate and how worried everyone was that he'd been rapidly "growing up".

Idunno, he's not all new. He still as basic life skills, the kind amnesiacs tend not to lose.

right..and isn't he back to running his company?

He owns the company again. The Jean Grey School's economics class is running the company. I do wonder if we ever do see that again though.

Another great issue. This is still one of the best X-books of the bunch. :D

To me it's THE best of the X-books right now. It's been seven issues and there hasn't been a villain of the arc the X-Men have to chase down and defeat and repeat. It's all been about how all the X-Men are handling this new situation and I absolutely love it. Even more excited now to see what Bendis has planned for Uncanny X-Men.

You don't always need a big bad to fight for a book to be good and this does prove that, true. :)

Young Cyke is totally going to live with old Cyke, maybe to redeem him?

I'm thinking Angel is the one to shack up with Old Cyke's X-Men. He really doesn't want to be there and seems to be getting ignored by just about everyone.

Thats kind of what I was thinking too. Or Bobby in some random twist.

Immonen almost makes Bachalo's costumes work. Almost.....

What a great, great, great series so far! I just love the direction, art and stories. The last few pages of issue #8 were fantastic! As for the original X-Man that will defect I feel it will be Angel. There are now reasons why he would want to distance himself from his original team....wouldn't you agree?

I loved Ice-Man and Kitty make fun of Cap and Beast haha.
The action with both Angels were beautifully done.

So does anyone really feel that they will reset the Marvel Universe? I would hate it if they did....but they could use this series as a start. Sending the Original X-Men to our time could have jacked everything up.....and give them an out to write out what we have known.....

Rewriting the Marvel Universe would likely be a jumping off point for me. My addiction to Marvel comics, primarilly X-Men, is due to my love of the characters and their chronology. Take that away and I won't care as much, which makes the prices and over-shipping not worth it.

I am with you on that. I have been collecting for so long...but the characters are who I care about...not ones they will make up or re-write. I do not want a do-over.

For true. That rewrite would save me tons of money, lol. And lots of trips to the store. Unless they dug up all my favorite C listers they've killed off.... :(
