Finally read the latest issue.

Im loving the art. Storm's flying scenes were god-ly.

Though, Im not liking all these aliens. I'm not a big fan of the space stuff.

yeah, not a big Brood fan myself. At least, I asume that's what those things were.

Read it it was ok i felt it was pointless to add the walllflower turning into a sentinel scene was just dumb.

I've never been a huge fan of the sentinels either. Hard to imagine the government backing huge machines that cause so much damage just trying to squish one pesky mutant. :( It would never work in real life.

Backing up a group of superpowered individuals also won't work in RL, what's to keep these super types not take over the government one day when they're pissed at something or someone, or to keep them in line, especially when the president/majority of population is only human.

Though Marvel comics are less fictional imo.

I was looking at a list for the top 10 Marvel moments and Astonishing X-men appeared on it. It was Joss Whedon's run, which I believe was the third volume of the title. I'm considering picking up his run on the title. Would like to hear some of the thoughts in this topic regarding the quality of it. Is it worth picking up? I've heard praise as high as the title being described as the best the X-men has ever been.

I don't know if it's the best the X-Men has ever been, but I'd say it's the X-Men at their best in this decade.

Cyclops, Emma, Wolverine, Beast, Kitty, and later Colossus and Armor.

i warned folks about Ellis...he is poison to the X-Men...a deathknell to every x book he has touched.

and its not even that his stories arent good..its just him in general

That won't be too hard.

Claremont lives in his own small world full of pink petals and his favorite women.

Though Ellis also does...only he doesn't have pink petals and women in his world.

The X-Men have fought towering, mutant-slaying robot Sentinels before. But never one quite like this. And as the X-Men fight for their lives, they're left to wonder: What could this monstrosity have to do with THE BROOD?
