Emma seems to be a polarized character.......if you don't like her, you hate her, and vice versa.....

Exactly. I hate her. She so, um, prideful, if that's the right word. She walks around with this "Holier than thou" attitude. Scott is really stupid for wanting her as a girlfriend. (Actually, I wouldn't date a mind reader. *shivers*)

Well, that's Scott for you. The man is into mind readers. He's a 'Path Chaser.

LOL, I said this elsewhere, or maybe here, but it bears repeating: I think he likes mind-readers (or vice versa) because they don't need to see his eyes to figure out how he's feeling... you know how important eye contact is to relationships and all.

^ I think it might go even further than that. Scott's a fairly repressed guy-- it's hard for him to come clean and TELL anyone what he's feeling, so he connects best with women who already *know*...

Non-telepaths would expect a degree of intimacy from Scott that he's not prepared to give, whereas Jean or Emma can just read his thoughts to establish a connection, so he doesn't have to do any of the uncomfortable stuff.

Yeah, you're right -- he's VERY repressed. But the girls still always make him vocalize his feelings, which seems redundant. I mean, you can read the guy's mind, just let it go!

But that's part of what I like about Emma. She's not a push over or weak minded/welled like some of the characters. She speaks her mind even if it's hurtful.

hmmm I wonder, what does the last image of issue 14 reveals???, does he finally is able to control his powers(I hope so) or what????

I take it you haven't read 15, or I guess it isn't out where you're from.

He's definitely not able to control his powers at the current moment, as
he is in a coma.

I don't think Nova turned Logan into a little . I think she turned him into a rich, proper, sissy little boy. You know, like how Logan was back when his name was James, only exagge .
I know. It's just more fun to pretend that he's a little british schoolgirl:D

Yeah, Emma unlike Jean Grey, with or without Scott, is still an independent straightforward woman. She is not afraid to say what is on her mind. And even being with Scott, she is still tough unlike Jean who always had been a wimp before the Phoenix. I just love Emma-Kitty interaction.

You know, I don't think anyone has brought this up, yet...

Some preview pages from an upcoming issue of X-Factor feature a cameo from the Astonishing X-Men...

Anybody missing from that picture?

Not digging the art, but hmmmmm... I wonder what the timeline is supposed to be on that?

Nice find. I've seen that page a lot, but never noticed that.

Obviously, the timeline in X-Factor isn't the same with Astonishing, seeing how Cyclops is up and walking..

Thanks for posting it.

August 23.
Apparently it goes back to being monthly after that... #17 is scheduled for September 20.

I know Wikipedia isn't always the best source of information, and that many of you probably know this information... but for those whom this information is new and potentially interesting:

Death
Many characters die in all of Whedon's shows, especially the long-running Buffy. Extras and minor characters die as expected in action-based shows and movies, but Whedon also kills off main characters. He usually encourages the audience to care about the character before their death as part of "doing [his] job". On the 'Serenity' DVD commentary, Whedon says that he'd rather have fans say 'Why'd they kill (that guy)? I liked him!' than 'Oh. He's dead. Turn the page'. Whedon frequently kills off fan-favorite characters right after something very good happens to them.

Relationships
As seen in both Buffy and Firefly, nearly all of the romantic relationships Whedon portrays end badly, usually in a traumatic fashion. One member in the relationship will usually end up dying or turning evil, or the break-up will end up being horribly painful.

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joss_Whedon

I feel like Marvel editors will keep a bit of a tighter rein on who he can and can't kill, but I still found it to be interesting info.

Yeah, it's well known that happy couples cannot exist in a Joss Whedon story. The favored termination of a good couple is death and turning evil, although three couples managed to break up under slightly more normal terms:
Gunn & [Wini]Fred (Fred almost killed a man in cold blooded revenge, but Gunn killed him instead)
Xander & Anya (Xander left Anya at the altar)
Willow & Oz (Oz caught the scent of a female werewolf in heat, and... well...)

Well, if we look to the cover of Phoenix: Warsong, we find Mr. Summers sporting the fall line of X-Men Ruby Quartz visor. So, well I'll leave it to the cover to speak the words.

The Astonishing appearance in X-Factor is actually the same timeline (616) but obviously it's at another point in the time line (after the Hellfire arc). So we'll just assume he got better, and they went on to make the cameo. Also as far as the missing person from the picture... well one again, I advise we address the cover of Warsong.

Didn't I read somewhere that Warsong would take place before the whole Hellfire Club/Civil War stuff that's going on now, and that therefore we couldn't conclude anything from who was featured in that?

My mind could totally be making this up, but I thought I read that....

With regards to warsong it was said to take place before the current arc of astonishing for "obvious" reasons. So it's fairly safe to assume that everyone will make it out alive from Warsong (minus a cuckoo or two since we've not seen them in Astonishing this arc -- in case no one noticed). But the end of this Astonishing arc might not be as happy...

Okay, my copy of #15 finally came today (yeah, in future I shall heed the wisdom of all those who warned me against subscribing directly), so I was finally able to sit down and read this thing myself instead of second-hand. And all I have to say is:

I would pay real money to see Hugh Jackman and Kelsey Grammar enact these Wolverine/Beast scenes in "X-Men 4." :p ;)

So the next issue has been put back a month that sucks, i really liked the last issue it was good.

They've been at every two months for the past few months no?
