Don’t anyone tell him...I'm glad this re-release failed... This is probably the first time the MCU did something so shameless for a cash grab.
Don’t anyone tell him...
It's still a terrible and blatant excuse for a re-release...
But kudos on Endgame beating Avatar. If there was any movie that did it, I'm glad it's Endgame and not another Star Wars movie.
At the end of the day it's all meaningless numbers.

Avatar was re-released in 2010 with a mere 8 minutes of bonus footage as justification. That added $30 million to its box office. Endgame passed Avatar's original total a while back. The fact is that Disney only did what Fox did before them. Fair play by both studios, which were just trying to squeeze every penny from their blockbuster films. At the end of the day, that's how business works.
Does it really count as a re-release if it was still in release?
Fact is, as long as he doesn't have his own movies due to legal hang-ups, a lot of interesting stuff for him is gonna be left off-screen. It's the stuff that WOULD have a whole movie devoted to it. It's like there are Hulk movies happening out there we're just not seeing. Him in the Avengers movies is what it would be like for any of the main Avengers if we skipped their solo films - just checking in with them every couple years and they're at a very different place each time. And I can see why they didn’t reveal Smart Hulk in IW but that still doesn’t mean I like how Hulk and Banner resolved their differences offscreen.
