he would answerI would have asked him "Are we getting a 3 hour epic???"
I would've kissed the ring and wept incessantly.
he would answer
'' an imax movie can not be 3 hours long. it can not be 2:45 minutes long. how many times do we have to reapeat this?''

an imax movie is a movie that is realesed in an imax theater. no hollywoodmovie ever was full imax and will never be. the technology is not practical for sound,acting,.......But TDKR is not full lenght IMAX. Isn't it?

watch the prologue again. watch where and when they are talking when filmed. look at where they are standing. look at the position. and look at the location(environment). for a 2 hour movie it wouldnt work. But the TDK prologue is IMAX and is AWESOME in sound, acting (Ledger) and image. Of course is more expensive and heavy to move such a camera but on a blockbuster like TDKR they could have tried...
infamous what is the problem?
That's on Water in the financial district... must be shot of them after taking it off the skyscrapper.
Nolan's way of working with dialogue also makes it impossible. He likes to use the dialogue recorded in camera, and the IMAX camera is LOUD. I've heard some on-set footage from the TDK prologue without the mix, and it sounds like a bank machine counting cash. Flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap. It's exactly like that, and the volume just about matches what the boom mic is able to pick up on the actor's voices. It's really f***ing loud. But the TDK prologue is IMAX and is AWESOME in sound, acting (Ledger) and image. Pretty sure that's not the same Bat, they were building the one on the roof the same time one was parked around that area.

They managed to salvage Fichtner and Ledger's lines on-set, but absolutely everything else is dubbed. They COULD do that for the quiet dialogue-heavy scenes, but it really wouldn't be worth it.
