I wonder what the Bat-Suit will look like in the continuity free "Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight" book?

What's up with Tim and Jason's dads being alive in the new 52? I was thrown off in Teen Titans/Red Hood.

I also feel they writers are trying to recreate the Ledger Joker speak. So much...

Also, B&R Annual was more entertaining and the reason I've loved Batman more than DOTF has been. It's just feeling like they're trying too hard.

Ah, man. Lobdell messed up Tim's origin so much it's not even funny. And Jason's didn't fair much better.

To answer your question in a nutshell:
Tim's parents are alive and in protective custody.
Everything that ever happened to Jason is the doing of the Joker. EVERYTHING. Joker supposedly brought Jason's dad back to mess with Todd. But not really.

lobdell wrote in the last ish of teen titans that tim and jason are closer to brothers than anyone

but that they haven't had a chance to talk since he's been back from the dead

wat

I don't know how much of that you can blame on Lobdell and how much on editorial. I would guess it was editorial's decision to **** with Tim's backstory.

I'm just going to ignore that...

Makes no senses Identity Crisis diet happen but still have Todd back from the dead.

Just bought RIP and Final Crisis. About to start the Black Glove and read all of them through. Have myself a big Morrison marathon. I also have Ressurection of Rh'as Al Ghul and a Batman in Time or whatever it's called. I know I needa start TBG first but when should I read RORAG?

Don't have it. I've just started with black glove and gonna read through from there. I had most of RIP back when the issues came out, I just wasn't so into comics back then that I knew the difference between specific titles and everything. I would just be at the store like "Oooohh new Batman book!" lol

Who do you guys think will die next week in DOTF?

Personally, I say Damian. Think about it. Batman and Robin 17 looks to be a one and done issue. Then we have 18. The Batman and Robin story of the year. A tribute issue to Damian. Now, we have the WTF covers. The cover we have so far is Batman and that's just half the picture. Robin's cape can be seen as well. What makes this cover a WTF cover if it's just Damian? And the summary says that Batman will meet someone who will change his life forever. And then there's issue 20. Issue 20, for those who have not seen the cover and summary yet, here:

"The massive fallout from the recent events in BATMAN, INCORPORATED take Batman to the very limits of his sanity…will The Red Hood pull him back—or push him over the edge?"

I don't follow Inc. so maybe this will happen over there rather than DOTF but I still say Damian will die somewhere. Now, why Jason? Why not Damian? What might the two have in common? Dead Robins.

Just my theory.

bro

morrison's character

who is the focus of his years long epic batman run

is not going to die in a book that isn't batman incorporated

Well, it would be a pretty DC thing to do. :cwink:

But, I will admit, I don't keep up with Inc (or anything Morrison does anymore) so I did not realize. Still, I feel he'll die soon, likely in Inc then.

I'm worried for Damian in Batman Inc. 8. The only thing that makes me question whether that will happen is that Damian's been a big focus character in the Batman & Robin book. If they kill Damian in Batman Inc what will be the future of Batman & Robin? The Harper Row chick (I think her name is) that's appeared a few times in Snyder's Batman could potentially become the new Robin, as she's supposed to be important to Batman's future, but it'd feel odd to have a Snyder character replace Robin, who was killed in Morrison's book, in Tomasi's Batman title. It's just all over the place. I just figured Harper was going to amount to a new version of Oracle, since Gotham's now lacking in that department. But then, Morrison has revealed that he had originally planned to kill Damian off in his first or second arc.... so maybe he's just dragging it out and Damian's a gonner this month :(

I'd also be very frustrated because, in my opinion, Tomasi has been doing a better job with Damian of late than Morrison. I feel like Morrison peaked on the character during his Batman & Robin run but he's become Tomasi's character since then. I'd hate to see Morrison kill him off.

As for the death in Death of the Family... I'm leaning toward Harley Quinn. Joker's talking about these family members who are dragging Batman down, but Joker has Harley that he could potentially see as doing the same thing to him. She cameoed in the first book and had an entire backup story and hasn't been seen since. I think he's making a statement to Batman and his family with Harley's head. The only other options that I can see are Alfred and Gordon and I just don't see that happening.

Is Damian around in the Beyond books? Just curious...

I wouldnt mind Damian dying. Very few people know how to write him properly.

I want him to die. He's served his purpose, and I liked him while he was around, but I don't want him to be a permanent addition to the Batman family.

I don't mind Damian as a character but I really don't like Batman having a son.

Also, is Damian even Bruce's son in the traditional sense? Morrison keeps showing him being genetically modified by Talia, I can't remember if he was a test tube baby or not.

Terrible opinion.

I just think it makes for a better story if Damian dies, partly for the same reason I think Jason should've stayed dead. It gives a heavy since of reality to the dangers of the superhero lifestyle and highlights that not everything can be fixed with a magic spell or a Lazarus Pit.

Plus, it would be heartbreaking. Everybody has grown to love this character over the past 7 years. It would show major balls to kill him now.

He was grown in an artificial womb. So test tube baby I guess. But they're Bruce's swimmers from banging Talia, maybe she had a turkey baster nearby or they scooped him out of Talia after conception or... Don't really want to think about any of that to be honest.

I was one of the first to sign on to the "Hate Damien" train, but with B&R I, Batman Inc. I, and now Batman Inc. II and B&R II... the character has grown so much. That B&R Annual was the nail in the "Love Damien" train for me. He has done a complete 180 and is being written amazingly. The best of giving Batman a son, all the talk about being given the Wayne name and traditions/training/etc. So beautiful...

I'd hate for them (Morrison) to kill him, as soon as he's started to become the best character in the Batbooks in the last 10-15 years.

But, they fact they've actually have written him like a film character and not a comicbook (ie; growth) than that probably dooms him.

Also, is Inc II after DOTF?

And, does anyone else feel Joker is too perfect right now. One try at all of the sidekicks and he is able to overcome all at the same damn time? Feels too easy, even for Joker. And, it feels so telegraphed. We didn't see him shoot Babs, kill Essen; it was unpredictable even for him... But, whatever he is doing now seems tried and tired. Every "big bad" wants to kill the Bat-clan or at least make them turn against big-daddy Bruce. IDK, I loved Black Mirror, enjoyed Owls for the most part (minus the tie-ins and the drawn out fight, and the whole "brother" crap), but am not enjoying this DOTF other than someone trying to merge Nolan's TDK with the New 52 as a rough storyline.

Plus, why tease us with Damien as a future Batman if he doesn't make it past 2013?

Are there end dates to B&R II's run or Batman Inc. II's run?
