Official Batman Titles thread 2.0 - - - - - - - Part 16

How does Damien exist in the new-new 52 (reboot of a reboot)?

It was already not very kosher when they said Batman had 5 Robins and one was Damian in less than 5 years on the job... and now Zero Year retooled it once again and Damian is around right after? DC is one giant cluster-****.
Why do you keep saying that when we have already told you it's not the case...

I just read there on another site that the story (Damien:Son of Batman Year of Blood part 1) is set during Eternal and not after Endgame. I am going to edit my original post where I gave my reviews of Superheavy part 1 and Damien:Son of Batman Year of Blood part 1 and remove the part where I said it was set after Endgame.
You're confusing the titles, though. Damian: Son of Batman is a miniseries from few years ago. The current on-going is Robin: Son of Batman which I believe happens after Endgame since in interviews Gleeson mentions why Batman/Bruce isn't showing up because Jim took over the mantle.

You are right, I was mixing up the titles :funny:. Thanks for that.

Julia and Harper should have never been created, they're all just wannabe Oracle/Cass/Spoiler mish-mash.

Eh..I like em. Adds another dimension on top of keeping Barbara in action, so im with it.

I like what he's saying here, despite disliking most of his arcs so far. If the Two Face story is with Bruce Batman and not Gordon, I may try out an issue or two.

Yeah a part of me likes what he says...but i always enjoyed the storys that showed Harveys split personality disorder.

But sometimes its good to show that villains are just evil, it doesnt always need to be a statement or something.

If he does a Two-Face story, then hopefully after the batbunny robot thing is over and we have bruce as batman again.

Well, what a shame. I guess I can add Two-Face to the ever growing list of villains Snyder can't write.

Seriously, depicting his personalities is now villainising mental illness? It's the most sympathetic part about him.

I cannot wait. I loved his Joker and I loved his Riddler. The Court of Owls were great too. I am interested in seeing his version of Two-Face as the main villain.

Nice. Can't wait, though hopefully it's with Bruce and not Gordon. I feel that Two-Face would be the perfect foil for a story dealing with amnesiac Bruce finding that other side of himself again (Batman).

Two-Face could use some refocused flaws and strengths. Whenever you completely embrace the split personality to the extent of treating the Big Bad Harv side as dominant and leave no room for Harvey to fight his dark side, you take away the internal conflict that makes a great Two-Face story. An impotent Harvey is kind of boring, while a Harvey that has his own violent desires on top of the schizophrenia makes for some compelling reading because he can win occaisionally. And I like the idea that every once in a while, some idiot ticks off both sides and is just cadaveriffic.

I really liked the Peter Tomasi story in Batman and Robin, so we'll see if he can match that.

Was there ever an official explaination for why they didn't use Carrie Kelly?

No, but I imagine DC was looking at her for the new Robin, then decided to bring Damian back and told them to scrap her. Since it was clearly pretty last minute and went against what they said in interviews. Too bad, I liked how they wrote her.

I wish we could have seen the original version of that arc.

Yeah, me too. I still thought it was ok but I imagine it would have been significantly better if he was allowed to use his original ideas and not have to make late changes.

I caught on with last week's comics... Oh my, Grayson is simply my favourite DC on-going book. Issue 11 was fantastic and can't wait for the next one where he comes [BLACKOUT]home[/BLACKOUT].

I'm only on issue #9 in Grayson but it's easily my second favorite book behind Justice League. Yes I said it, Grayson is better than Batman.

Correction: Grayson is way better than Batman.

Nah, I'll take Batman over Grayson any day. Any of the Batman books. I just don't really get the appeal of Grayson. It's good, but nothing spectacular.

And looking back, I forgot how much I enjoyed that Two-Face arc in Batman & Robin. By far my favorite Two-Face story thus far (though granted, I've only been reading consistently since the New 52 with the exception of Morrison's run, which didn't have Two-Face in it).

Didn't Two-Face off himself in one the books ? Im almost pretty certain that happened.

I mean obviously its comics...but...still.

Correction: Grayson is way better than Batman.
You know after reading issue #11 I'm inclined to agree. King and Seeley are an awesome team and Mikel Janin's art continues to blow my mind.

I'm still enjoying Snyder's Batman to some extent but this current arc really needs to step it up.

I love the idea of Jim as batman I even love the suit the execution is ok at best. I do hope we get some decent Jim as batman stories at some point.

“In 2016, it is going to be Barbara Gordon’s 50th anniversary as Batgirl. We’re all pushing for really incredible things to happen. One thing I can let you know is early in 2016 there will be an amazing status quo change — this sounds like such a cliche! But this is going to change the way the Bat-World works.”

Batgirl? Also guest stars and big mike drops. And big life-changing stuff going on for Barbara Gordon and her friends. We’re going to see new heroes, new relationships, and a massive change in the status quo.

Batgirl is leaning into her 50th Anniversary year in 2016 and we plan to celebrate it with a bang.

Consider me excited with the return of Cassandra in B&R Eternal, Babs teaming up with one of the girls in We Are Robin and with Steph in November's Batgirl issue... I like some theories I read about this upcoming status quo: Barbara getting a sidekick, being outed and having a public identity, a legion of Batgirls is created, Babs becoming Batwoman...

No thank you to that last one but I am really excited to see what they come up with.
