Why put Gambit in a Wolverine movie?

I have yet to see Shane mentioned in anyone's thread. I seriously doubt 20% of the people that post here, know who he is!

I guess it's more his demeanor in the series that impresses me the most. It's seems a lot of people want a really cocky Gambit in the movie. I would prefer a really confident Gambit. The difference in my opinion being... a confident character you think is cool or just flatout badass, while a cocky character( Keanu Reeves, and that Swayer dude from Lost) you just want to punch in the mouth every time they talk!

Sure, if he can do the opposite of whatever he was TRYING to do in Hannibal Rising. Half the movie I was going: "AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. he is such a pretty serial killer!"

Right now he is young for the role, but in three or four years, he could be a nice addition.

Like Kate from Lost wanted to punch Sawyer in the mouth and kiss him at the same time? They are so Gambit and Rogue.
I wouldn't mind a cocky Gambit. I want to see someone showing off their powers, be comfertable in their own skin and actually celebrating their mutantness. There is enough angst already. That's how it has always been with Gambit though. You either love the cockyness, the charm, the flash or you hate it.

Why not? Have you seen him act? Have you seen Band of Brothers? Josh Halloway sucks, as well as all most everyone else's suggestions so far! Gambit was not created by Jim Lee to be a preety boy! He was created to be a gritty character, Jim Lee was quoted as saying he had someone like John Malcovitch in mind when he created him! You seem to be leaning more towards eye-candy!

I just read an actor by the name of Bailey Chase is in talks for the part, also Gambit's character will be in the Wolvie movie, maybe not X4!

Its true, he is going to be in the Wolverine film, but be lucky the people decided to add him into the films at all. They might not have done that and just kept him out. Any who I'm glad he's in the film, see what kind of a part he has in it.

Yes i have seen him act and i still don't think he'd make a good Gambit. Although Jim Lee did say he wasn't supposed to be a pretty boy, he was the one that began make him prettier. Since then Gambit has clearly been portrayed as a handsome, attractive man in any comic. However Gambit is not a typical clean cut pretty boy. I'd like to see a good looking guy play Gambit with a 5 'o clock shade, hair scruffy and his clothes black and dirty.
