With the american thanksgiving coming up this weekend i think we will go another week without any news...

i dont see anything wrong with kevin sorbo we dont know if he will get a part and if he did what he would do, and as for kat denning for thor i dont know her work but has it even been stated what role she has. For all we know she could end up being a friend character of jane foster, there was to be a few characters for that i believe.

I know that Native American actor Adam Beach (Flags of Our Fathers, Windtalkers, Joe Dirt) has been cast in the film, but I'm not sure for which role. Also not sure if that is supposed to be a secret (it is not on IMDB) so I am not putting my name on this post. I guess that I could also just refrain from mentioning that, but it seems if Ryan Reynolds has already been revealed, that supporting cast isn't too big a deal.

seriously, if they cast Kevin Sorbo...man. Just look at the cast of Thor (now with Kat Dennings) and if mr. Sorbo was in Green Lantern, he'll stink up the place.

Not really a Sorbo fan, but in his defense some people said the same thing about Eric Roberts when he was cast in TDK, and I thought he did an okay job.

It all depends on which role he'd get cast as.

Abin Sur
Pipe
General Broome (Hammond's boss), etc.

I don't see Sorbo as Sinestro though, I'd like Weaving for that part.

If Beach is playing Tom, that means they heavily modified the character. In the 1° draft, he's a geeky and over-the-top mid-20's computer programmer. Beach doesn't seem to fit that.

Or just watch the whole thing, he's pretty much perfect, maybe a bit older but I think he can play Kalmaku whatever direction they go in. And he seems to just naturally have the same temperament I'd imagine Tom having, he's got this part.

In his defense however, who knows, they probably have changed his persona a bit. I'm thinking he'll be humourous but not as geeky as the first draft Tom.

Yeah, I can see Adam's version of Tom being funny but not to the point where he'll call up Hal and bragging about performance on Halo 3. Or build a ship.

I've always figured that he was at first conceived as an Inuit Jimmy Olsen. But as time went by, his role got more important and he became less of a baffoon. I'm not saying it's as bad as The Spirit's African American sidekick Ebony (I'm convinced this is why The Spirit has never gotten the attention that it should get because of this one character) But it's still bad and I'm glad that Tom is a full fledged character now, instead of a goofball.
