If Kevin Durand is really up for a role I image it's Richard Rider or Adam Warlock.

See, I wouldn't like Durand for RR or Warlock. At all.

The guy is 6'6''. He's played villains before. If he legitimately is in talks, it's for Thanos. No doubt about it. No doubt.

Keep in mind that report came from LR, whose credibility has been a little, shall we say, "questionable" lately. (Along with CBM blowing themselves up over Shaileen Woodley....what's up with geeksites giving themselves massive black eyes the past few days?)

But if there's a shred of truth to the report: I think it would be hilarious if Batista gets the nod, even though I wouldn't be opposed to it. It's just that some people in this very thread would have a friggin' heart attack if it happened.

As for Durand: I like him, and if they sneak him in as Warlock or Nova, as Dent suggested, that would be bonus. I'd just hate to see him for Thanos....he just seems too babyfaced and innocent to play *The* Big Bad.

Why not? I'm not disagreeing he couldn't play Thanos, but he has the build for Rider/Adam, the look, and it's not like those two are short dudes. But yeah, given his height it is likely Thanos...I don't know about his build though. Also not sure why you think he would be perfect for the role. Some examples?

Eh. I wouldn't nerdrage if he gets the part; they could definitely do worse than Durand for the Mad Titan. I just still get the suspicion that Marvel will go for a really big marquee Oscar-bait name for Thanos, like they have for most of their villains (Jeff Bridges, Tim Roth, William Hurt, Mickey Rourke, Hugo Weaving, Ben Kingsley, Christopher Eccleston).

Well he's played good guys, too... so he'd could just as easily be in for Drax..

I mean, at 6'6, he'd tower over hemsworth. Maybe not tower, but he will clearly be taller. If Drax is that big, how tall will Thanos have to be?

not to mention, that it talks about the other two in talks for drax, and Durand in an "unspecified" role, if he were in talks for drax, he woulda probably been mentioned as, "being in talks for drax" lol

Maybe. But I mean, Kevin Durand is a big guy, I just can't see a Drax the Destroyer being so much bigger than thor

I can say that I'm 95% sure Durand isn't in the running for Thanos and if he is well that's just bad casting IMO.

As for Batista if he's who Gunn wants to go with for Drax then he'll have my support. Though, there are quite a few others I myself would like to see in the role before him.

If they use them, I could actually support Batista playing both Blood Brothers, who are of course, servants of Thanos, and appeared along side Thanos and Drax in Iron Man #55.
