But this time they did, because they didn't win it as one. Had Davis made it over he first-down line on his last catch, it could have never came to the last punt reception and forced fumble. Had they converted more 3rd downs earlier in the game and scored more points, then the earlier muff wouldn't have hurt as much point-wise, either.

Again, if he niners as a team had done more to win, especially Smith, they would not have been in a position to have lost on one play like that in overtime. If you want to point to William's gaffes as the key facilitating plays, sure...it was one of them. But the niners had enough opportunities to capitalize on and put the game way despite the fist muff, and to keep it from even getting into overtime...and they didn't because the Giants played well enough not to let it happen. We understand you're bitter, but responsibility lies with more than just Williams. The Giants earned that win just by being in a position to capitalize on plays like that which happen in this game. So go ahead and keep spilling your sour grapes, and we'll keep identifying it as just that.
