I want to congratulate the Giants. Their front 4 played lights out and Brady was rushed the entire game. I think the front four was the key to the game but the Giants coverage in the secondary was impressive. I think the Giants were able to stop the rush and force the Patriots to pass which allowed them to tee off on the Patriots weakened offensive line. Heck of a defensive game plan.

The Patriots defense played pretty damn well the entire game, however they made some mistakes in the secondary and missed tackles definately hurt them. Samuel missed and interception on the sideline that was a big key, Hobbs blew the coverage on Burress on the game winning TD, up to three Patriots missing the sack on Manning on the game winning drive. These old men certainly looked old.

The Patriots offense was off key all night long up what seemed to be the game winning drive. The star of the offense all night was Wes Welker and Kevin Faulk made some key plays out of the backfield. Tom Brady was not Tom Brady. It was a valiant effort, but he was misfiring all night long. You can certainly credit the Giants defense with making Brady miss. Where the heck was Muroney all night? He had a kick return and then disappeared into the Giants front seven.

Now for the Giants offense, they showed up when it counted. Peyton Manning looked Bradyesque on both TD drives. They made more big plays than the Patriots. They didn't abandon the run and complimented the run with the pass when applicable. Kudos to Manning who I have been killing all year long on the boards and otherwise. He was the Giant's "Giant Killer". I am thoroughly impressed with him now.

To me this tarnishes the Patriots season. Sure they wen't 18-0 going into the Superbowl, sure they shattered records. I understand that Brady broke the record for most touchdowns thrown in a single season. I understand Moss broke the recored for most touchdowns receiving in a single season. None of that matters though because they lost the Superbowl. That is how I feel, and I know that is how they feel. They will now be considered by some, including me, the 2nd best team of the 2007 season. The best team in the league being the Super Bowl Champions...New York Giants.

Congrats to the fans on the boards and the fans abroad. The Giants earned and and you fans deserve it.

Well said, I couldn't agree with you more...the only thing I would point out is the Giant's OL which did a tremendous job in giving Manning time to make those plays....

I mean I like the guts of Manning to be able to control the presser with only 3 minutes to go. The kid is really strong... but at the same time I'm like: Kiddo U choose the wrong Super bowl to play superman! Almost everybody wanted to be part of history and you ruin it! Now most will not remember you as a champion but rather as the guy who ruined the Patriots record! :cmad::cmad::cmad:

Hah.

And if Woody would have went straight to the Police, none of this ever would of happened.

LMAO

Thats how I felt, he better not revert back to 'normal Eli' next season or I will be really mad, he has a duty to carry on like this

I do have a question for Patriot fans, where do they go from here? I mean obviously they will make the Playoffs next year but will the sting of this year stay with the team for years to come?

Also they did a statistic of the last 7 Superbowls and the 6 of the last 7 losing teams failed to make the playoffs the next year.

I think they will come back stronger, this will only motivate them

I would imagine the coaching staff and the players that remain will use this as motivation as they did last season's loss to the Colts. Of course it stings but eventually they will take some positives out of it.

It was almost a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Pats to go undefeated. I think it'd be hard especially next year for them to go undefeated.

So them coming back stronger after being this dominant? I just think this is a mark on the reputation.

Here's something that hasn't been brought up: They did the Madden simulation this year (which hasn't been wrong for 5 years on the victor) and it came up with the Patriots. So not only was the Patriots' perfect season denied, but that Madden simulation is back to being just a game of Madden.

Being stronger means winning the Super Bowl. That is the ultimate goal for any team. Obviously going undefeated during the regular season means nothing in my opinion. Sure it's a great accomplisment but they didn't finish the job.

Well the Patriots is not my team it s just the record that put me into it. And I doubt they gonna be as good as this year. that year was a gift from the sky ...or a joke from Hell I don't really know. But In my mind the patriots were a stronger team than the Giants the only thing making the difference was the presser.

I think what killed the patriots was the record nothing else! If The patriots had lost in the regular season I'll bet you anything they would win 1000 - 3 against the Giants.

Anthony from O&A (radio show) put it best, the Giants were playing with the House money. The Pats had everything to lose.

I consider this is karma for everything that's been rumored about the Pats...

From spygate, to the (supposed) taping of the Rams walkthrough, to even when they were running up the scores on already beaten opponents, all the way to their classless head coach.

Congrats G-men, you did us all proud.

:yay:

THANK YOU New York Giants.

And Plaxico is the man. For once, a Spartan football player actually delivers when it matters. And Burress has done that all year.

Congrats to the G-Men.

Congrats to the Giants for winning the Super Bowl, that was one of the best super bowls I have ever seen

I'm happy the Lombardi trophy is back in the NFC

Ladies and Gentlemen... we have a winner for the 2008 NFL PLAYOFF POOL!

Our first place contestant prior to SBXLII was Dark Donnie, who had 16 points. But since no one but StorminNorman picked the correct winner, he automatically gets points. He was only 2 points behind the leader, and there were 8 points awarded per stat.

The 2008 NFL Playoff Pool winner is...
StorminNorman!

:star:

1. StorminNorman - 22 points
2. Dark Donnie - 16 points
