well i will wait 'till the HD QT version, but guys, it looks like crap :-/

i mean... vampires in CGI ? WTF ? (looks like a stephen sommers movie)

(i bet they didn't read the novel)

New trailer doesn't say what they are...Will Smith says infected though. Will vampires even be said in this movie at all?

I actually like the teaser better.

Just watched the trailer and I'm not sure how I feel. I mean I love the book and I own it as well, it just doesn't feel like an I Am Legend story. Just seems to me like it's a mindless action horror film with no story.

I Am Legend, in my opinion, is one of the darkest and most emotional horror/sci-fi books that I've ever read. It's more about the mental mindset of Robert Nevelle and how isolated he became from the world. With no Cortman, Ruth, and Virginia in the story it just seems like a half-assed adaptation.

im glad i never read the book, because the movie looks good imo

No. They're never referred to as vampires in the script. They aren't the classical vampire archetypes that are presented in the book. They're close enough that they could be considered vamps, but they aren't 100% vampires.

I'm still gonna hang on for the great quality in a couple of hours but what did you think Todd ? Of all the posters in this thread i consider you the most balanced.

The trailer's not bad, but I think the teaser was a bit better. The teaser had that awesome somber atmosphere, but this is obviously a trailer made to hook people. Lots of explosions and action. But it also gives you a better idea of the plot. You get an idea of what the creatures look like. There's lots of interesting photography. Visually it seems to be really nice, like Constantine. The action looks pretty damn good too. The CGI for the creatures is a little rubbery though, and that's my only real complaint. Overall, it's not bad. I've seen better trailers, but it did its job; it makes me want to watch the movie. As we all know, it's not like the book all that much, but I think it'll be really neat.

One thing I absolutely loved:

Neville sleeping in the bathtub in the dead of night, covering his ears to cover up the noise of the vampires lurking outside. It was only a second or two long shot, but it felt like something right out of the book.

Thanks for the feedback , hopefully they can tweak the CGI over the next 6 weeks.

The spoiler bit does indeed sound excellent.

Sorry dude but it's kinda obvious you wanted a faithful book adaption from the start, where as Todd loves the book but was open to expanding it into a bigger scoped movie, so for me he is someone who was gonna be the most impartial in his views.

I think this movie is gunna be pretty stellar, both trailers have really hooked my interest in the movie, I love the book, and I love the Omega Man movie, but as with everything I like it when adaptations breath on their own a bit.

I think I would agree with todd that the creatures look a little to obviously fake, but outside of that, I have no real complaints

I like the glimpses of action we got too, I am excited, december is gunna be one packed month for sweet action movies (which is a rarity that i hope becomes a constent) with AVPR and National Treasure
